Movement is our first taste of new music from Oliver Tree since the LA-based singer songwriter and producer gave us his genre-bending EP Alien Boy. And trust me, you’re going to want to get up and “move” to this new one. Oliver Tree serves up a signature blend of gritty hip hop, alt rock, and vehement electronica on the truly unique and fresh tune. He continues to push boundaries and break new ground with his scintillating style of music. 2017 was wild for Oliver Tree. Not only did he join Whethan on select dates of The Chainsmokers’ Memories Tour, but he also teamed up with his friends (and IHM Chicago faves) Louis The Child on select dates of their tour, too. Then there was his solo festival debuts at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands (where I was fortunate enough to dash over in time to the Panhandle Stage to catch a ridiculously large crowd of people going savage to his set). And now 2018′s looking to be more of the same now that Oliver Tree is back with deliciously festering Movement. Download/stream the single via additional outlets, here.

It’s been so long since we’ve heard from MOVEMENT. Have you missed them, like I have? Well, you can set that all aside now, because the smooth Australian trio are back with a haunting demo named LACE. This one’s as droopy and syrupy as we’ve ever heard the alt R&B and electronic pop band. The tension is ready to break at any moment, like a tightly wound wire, lit up in searing flames. Word is, MOVEMENT is readying a debut album. We’d better get ready, too.

The HAIM sisters’ My Song 5 already has some great renditions floating around, including that official re-working that features rap verses by A$AP Ferg, which was a grower for me (but I now love it, very much). Imagine my surprise when HAIM announced a new version of My Song 5 this afternoon. This time, it’s a syrupy, thick, slinky version turned in by Australian electronic and R&B trio Movement. The haunting rendition reverberates with dark echoes and gloomy sentiment.

I can’t wait to catch Australian electronic trio Movement live this summer. I was a fan the moment I heard their song Us last year with all its haunting, dark vibes and velvety smooth vocals. Control Me is a tune off their debut self titled EP, out on Modular Recordings, and it’s such a sizzling hot slow jam, filled with that lustful, yearnful atmosphere that I love so much about Movement.

I cannot wait to catch Australian trio Movement live this summer. They’ve been a strong blip on my radar since they first stunned me with their amazing song Us last year. Movement recently released their self titled debut EP on Modular Records, and track number 3 is this utterly intoxicating song 5:57. It’s a prime example of their moody, R&B inflected electronic pop music and its heavy, seductive, and textured atmosphere.

Back to Australia we go with this brand new tune by Modular People signed electronic trio Movement. Ivory will be on their self titled debut EP out May 6, and it’s going to be one stellar release. I love their smooth, minimalist, shadowy style on all the songs they’ve released so far, and the same can be said for Ivory. Add on the piano chords and the simmering guitar solo, and oh, boy, how can anyone say no to this? It’s like a brief Jimi Hendrix cameo meets James Blake meets SBTRKT (who brought Sampha in tow)! Revisit previous shares Like Lust and Us below, which will also be on the debut EP. It doesn’t get more provocative and seductive than this.
