I never knew oranges could be emotional. I always figured if we were to ascribe emotions to a vegetable or a fruit, it would have to be the onion. But I find myself overly emotional (in a good way) over this fine debut from a new alt-pop crew named Emotional Oranges. They drench us with stunning vocal harmonies and lights us up with a funky groove on their flashy song Motion, which exhibits shades of Anderson .Paak and The xx within its golden luscious R&B pop vocals, shimmying beats, and smelted guitar work. The newcomers are the latest chic and stylish artists to watch out of Los Angeles. Motion can be streamed and downloaded via alternate platforms, here.

Sam is an artist and producer from Los Angeles. That’s pretty much all that we know about Sam Smyers, since that’s what it says on his Soundcloud profile. It’s as if he’s appeared out of thin air with his first original, a frisky, feisty dance track named Motion which features singer songwriter M. Maggie on guest vocals. Sam Smyers’ chill tropical house and M. Maggie’s ever magnetic voice come together like a Sia and Thomas Jack collaboration. It’s balmy euphoric, sweetly hooking, and warmly comforting. Motion is a free download, here.

As someone who loves retro wavy, dreamy sleek house, it was impossible for me to resist the draw of KVASIR’s music. The British producer delivers rotund progressions and luscious beats on Motion, a track from his recent self titled EP. Motion now comes with a glossy riveting music video that evokes the techno futurism of Daft Punk’s aesthetic alongside the song’s Kavinsky and Daft Punk sonic magnetism. For another excellent cut from KVASIR’s EP, stream First Throws below in all it’s synthpop meets tech house glory. The EP is available on iTunes.

I don’t know about you, but I still can’t stop dancing to Solidisco’s Motion. In fact, my soul might still be stuck somewhere in the 80′s, thanks to that glorious masterpiece and its early Madonna sampling. What better way is there to follow up on such a glamorous grooving tune than to dive into yet another new Solidisco track? The New York based producer gives us a fresh remix this time around, and he dresses Chicago trio Autograf’s Heartbeat in coruscate deep disco house threads. My heart skips and hops in tune to Solidisco’s elastic springing beats. The tropical entrancing, pulsating thrilling remix is part of Autograf’s Future Soup Remix EP, out this Friday with additional remixes from Alex Schulz, GRMM, and Dirty Chocolate. Revisit Solidisco’s Motion below and get ready to show off your killer dance moves.

If this doesn’t get you in the mood for a glamorous Friday night, I don’t know what will. You won’t be able to resist busting out some retro dance moves to Solidisco’s Motion, a high kicking, snazzy pumping disco house and funk masterpiece that takes us straight back to the 80′s and early 90′s. Solidisco samples classic early Madonna for the wildly hooking neon banger. This is the ultimate definition of a “jam”, through and through. Head to Toneden to grab this scorching hot, sexy sleek track.

Keeping it chill…

I posted about Balam Acab a short while ago, and since then the artist’s been mentioned and touted on a lotta music sites with the new album. Good. Good. Here’s some more BA goodness.

There’s nothing better than this to end the night. Ease the day out, set up some dreams, and prep for another day.

This stuff makes me feel like I’m scuba diving or wading through some thick fluid air. Very tactile stuff.
