Early this year, I was all but glad to come upon an incredible indie symphonic folk rock band from Texas named Mother Falcon. The act sports, at once, a whopping 17 members. Soon afterwards, they played Noise Pop Festival in San Francisco, but I was sad to miss their set. Just the sheer size of their band and the orchestral folk style of their music greatly remind me of Typhoon, a band I love very much, and when I saw Typhoon live, they filled up every nook and cranny with their huge, beautiful sound. I have a feeling Mother Falcon would be a similar experience. Today, Mother Falcon’s video for sweeping song Marigold debuted on NPR. The song, and its adorable video, are huge, loud, bold treats.
