Nine days, that’s how much longer we have to wait before morgxn’s debut album Vital arrives. It’s never been a more exciting time to be a faithful morgxn fan. Not only did he blow us away at SXSW when he gave us an incredibly impassioned performance at We Found New Music/Peppermint Club’s official showcase, but he gave us one of our favorite tracks of the year in “translucent”, too. morgxn recently wrapped up his European tour supporting X Ambassadors, and he’s set to perform at Lollapalooza, Firefly, Cayuga, and Laurellive this summer. And now, he turns our hearts into mush with his immaculate falsettos and a dulcet melting new tune named “me without you”.  He says of the single: “it’s a song about loving someone so much and not knowing what to do when they’re gone. it a song about searching for home when that person is ‘home’ and without them you don’t know home anymore. and ultimately it is a song about recognizing and saying “i love you” before it is too late to say it anymore. i wrote it for my father.” The anguish is nothing short of palpable on the heartrending ballad. Last month, Sweden’s Violet Days recruited Echo Park crooner morgxn for her latest acclaimed pop single, a gorgeously stirring gem named Somber. And now, the pair have reunited for a new acoustic video for the track. I found myself utterly transfixed by this stunning rendition, on which both singer songwriters turn in exceptional vocal performances. Their pure, harmonious voices intertwine tenderly with the song’s dewy keys. It’s a heartrending, lachrymose experience involving two rising stars. Listen to the original version of Somber below.

SXSW wasn’t the first time we’ve seen morgxn perform, but seeing him on a bigger stage at We Found New Music’s official showcase, climbing the speaker stacks and slaying the crowd with an assurance that reminded us of U2′s Bono was even more exhilarating than our prior experience seeing him live. Plus we near lost it when morgxn performed his last single, Translucent, his best song to date, in my humble opinion. Though we’re still inextricably hooked on that song (re-visit our feature, here), the California crooner’s new single has swiftly snagged our hearts, too. Carry The Weight, revealed via a lavishly constructed music video, is lifted from morgxn’s highly anticipated debut album “vital”, due out May 18th via wxnderlost records / Hollywood Records. It’s another soaring pop anthem bursting with passion and loaded with a sweeping chorus. With Carry The Weight, morgxn seems to lift a weight off our very shoulders. His voice both comforts and lifts us off the ground. Hope overcomes anguish, desperation, and heartbreak. morgxn says: “it can get messy. it can make no sense. but at the core – we are all learning to combine our sensitive voice with the weight of our personal strength. “carry the weight” is my personal anthem. and it exists because i am constantly learning to stand up for myself and for my family and friends.” The swiftly rising star will be performing at LaureLive, Firefly Festival, Lollapalooza, and Cayuga Sound Festival in the coming months. You can download Carry The Weight, here.

Even though I’ve already caught California crooner morgxn live before, I’m still superbly excited to catch him at SXSW this week. Perhaps he’ll perform his new song, a vibrant thrumming, dulcet sweeping alt pop single named ‘translucent’. I sure hope so. It’s an absolutely captivating piece from his debut album vital, which drops on May 18th via wxnderlost records / Hollywood Records. Rich and lavish ‘translucent’ is propelled not only by a driving beat, but by morgxn’s impassioned and smooth vocals, too.  About ‘translucent’, morgxn says: “it’s all a lie/dressed up in overdrive/choose your own paradise/it’s up to you.” There are plenty of chances to see him in Austin this week, but we’ll for sure be catching him at We Foudn New Music’s showcase on Thursday, March 15th at the Palm Door on Sixth at 10:30PM.

Echo Park swooner and molten crooner Morgxn is at it again, seducing us with his silky cooing and a sultry searing, steamy sensual new ballad named Bruised. “No one’s perfect, don’t you ever change,” he sings on the satin swelling single, which erupts into charged and electrified, lustrous pumping magnificence as it progresses. Except, he might be wrong. Morgxn’s lavish new single, with its verdant strings, thunderous beats, and voluptuous whirring synths is perfection. Just when we thought we couldn’t fall any harder for Morgxn than we already have, he melts us to the core with this vibrantly longing, aureate surging alt R&B and electronic pop knockout. Morgxn embarks on a fall tour on Halloween that will take him across the nation, accompanied by Phoebe Ryan. Find out more on his website, here.

“I wanna feel what I’m missing,” coos ever melting Morgxn as he makes a guest appearance on Midnight, the latest single from LA/Sweden indie electro duo ROOM8. Whatever it is that we’re missing, we feel it fully and oh so powerfully as we find ourselves entranced and enthralled by this swooning effusion of alt R&B and electronic pop. ROOM8′s plush production and Morgxn’s silky crooning are an almighty pairing on this seductively entrancing song, which ROOM8 ddescribes as “…a song about pursuing the things we want in the face of fear and uncertainty.” This is the soundtrack for restless late nights. The world around you is asleep. The air is heavy, loaded with desire. We can’t help but yearn for our own “midnight missions”, precarious as they may be. Midnight is available from iTunes, here.

It’s been like a year, but I still can’t get over Morgxn’s Love You With The Lights on, such an searing rouser it truly is. The singer songwriter takes us in a different direction with his latest brilliant concoction, a plucky, jaunty retro disco twirler named xx (or kiss kiss). Morgxn explains that the song is about reclaiming the right to love and feel love in a world where we tend to forget how to receive it every day. Well, I have plenty of xx’s and xo’s to dish out for Morgxn as I high step it to this torrid grooving cut off his forthcomin debut EP, vital.

Echo Park’s Morgxn has proven himself a sultry Casanova and vocal captivator with his magnificent music that oft blurs the lines between soul, rock, pop, and R&B. On one of his latest songs, Home, he even douses us with some splendid gospel harmonies and a fiery booming bassline. It’s that fabulous tune we now get to re-visit but in a very different light, thanks to a remix by Brooklyn DJ and producer LEFTI. Prepare yourself for a tightly wound joyride, one with plump synths and ripe bass. LEFTI gives Home his signature French house flavored electro disco treatment, one delightfully juicy and luscious, glamorous and flashy. Re-visit the original on Morgxn’s Soundcloud.
