I was traipsing through Soundcloud nonchalantly like I always do in the mornings while fast at work, when I encountered this sick track that I knew I had to hop on to share immediately. The lightning bolt jolt that it’s brought me is way better than any rush the coffee I’m having right now could ever give. All hail Pon De Time, Wuki’s absolutely genius mashup of Daft Punk’s timeless hit One More Time and Major Lazer’s 2009 dance classic Pon De Floor. French electro, steely future house, and dancehall meld together exceptionally in Wuki’s hands to become the most exhilarating mashup I’ve come across in ages. Pon De Floor is a free download, here.

Our journey into intense electronic euphoria continues tonight with a spine-tingling, suspenseful gripping trap and moombahton take on Elohim and Whethan’s hit collaboration Sleepy Eyes. At the helm of the edit is Los Angeles by way of Philadelphia production whiz NEO FRESCO, who keeps us on our toes with his thrilling rendering of the inebriating original. There’s an exotic feel to NEO FRESCO’s atmospheric twerking, spacious skittering edit. He takes us on a fascinating and intoxicating sojourn with an ever shifting, nomadic roving remix, which you can download, here.

I’m incredibly happy about Lauv’s swift ascent, but surprised I am not. We’ve been in love with this New Yorker’s creamy melting voice and heart wrenching R&B/electronic pop ballads from the moment he decided to share music as Lauv (after first enthralling us as a producer under the name Epique). Lauv is now such a hot commodity that even DJ Snake has tapped him for a collaboration. Behold smash hit in the making, A Different Way, a sharp and dapper dance and pop hybrid featuring Balearic springing production and Lauv’s waxy smooth cooing. It’s a bit like Ed Sheeran meets Mura Masa, with a bit of Diplo moombahton thrown in. Stream/purchase the single, here.

WeAreTreo, that trio of Los Angeles based production artists who like to “surf and make tunes”, dropped a fine single last Friday named Hypnotized. Entranced we are by this infectious summer anthem which also features their good friend and talented singer songwriter Cat Clark on vocals. Warm guitar strums frolic within its Jack Ü-like lively and airy production. Hypnotized is at once soothing and rousing. It’s a summer playlist must. Purchase from iTunes, here.

Greek production auteur Aero Chord is proving himself a chameleon of sorts with his recent music. After delivering that ridiculously brilliant Love & Hate EP late last year on which he melded trance with future bass, he went on to deliver an electro trap remix of Pegboard Nerds and NGHTMRE’s Superstar. Now, Aero Chord returns with Resistance, a heavy jolting, regal blaring anthem brimming with visceral trap and moombahton. Resistance is an invigorating call to arms, a stalwart and resolute eruption of will and determination. The exhilarating track is out now on Monster Cat. Purchase and stream from various outlets, here.

It’s hump day, we’re halfway through the work week, and we only have a couple more days to go before it’s the weekend again. For that extra dose of whomp whomp energy to make it through, we turn to Diplo and Autoerotique. The Grammy winning producer and the Toronto bass house outfit deliver some twerk ready twitchy combobulation on Waist Line, a purely wicked electronic banger. The song’s video involves some sick hula hoop moves, too. Snag this fiery fierce jam, here.

It’s been a moment since our last No Money remix, and we’ve certainly heard some magical ones in the past months. We dive back into Galantis’ anthemic tune as a remix by Germany’s Karl Hungus sends adrenaline coursing through our bodies. This dirty rattling trap and tense quaking

moombahton remix injects me with a massive dose of euphoric energy. The hyper jolting track is a free download direct from Soundcloud.

Though Louis The Child’s latest majestic hit Fire has been taking all the limelight, the Chicago duo’s collaboration with Icona Pop, Weekend, still tends to sneak its way inside my head on a regular basis. It’s just far too catchy of a thriller. Friday night is a more than befitting time to re-visit the track, albeit via a new bootleg of the track by Barcelona’s Kismet. If you thought the original burst with hyper active energy, wait till you hear Kismet’s approach on the track. This bouncy jostling, squishy animated, twerk and moombahton accented eruption of ecstatic noise will certainly leave you dizzily grinning ear to ear.

Many of you young electronic music heads may not recall Dinka’s Elements, a old classic banger from 2009 which became a huge club hit when EDX remixed it in 2010. But even if you do know it well, you still might not connect the dots between that song and Sons Of Maria and Angelika Vee’s effulgent and ebullient new jam. Sure, the chord progression in Sweet Madness is very much inspired by Elements, but this Spanish electronic project’s contemporary production and Hollywood singer songwriter Angelika’s magnetic topline have combined into an utterly fresh and original new tune. This summer balmy dance soiree is like a fizzy fun cocktail made up of tropical Kygo and dancehall/reggae spiced Major Lazer. It’s no wonder Sweet Madness, which first debuted on Spotify last month, has already racked up 200,000 streams. Snag your copy of the lustrous, honeyed banger from iTunes.

Though I’ve enjoyed my fair share of Latin dance music in the past, I must confess that my love of certain subsets within that vastly diverse landscape has recently grown manifold, partly due to the emergence of indie sensations SOFI TUKKER. When I heard Jarina De Marco’s TIGRE, I was instantly hooked. The Los Angeles based recording artist, whose roots lie in the Dominican Republic and Brazil, takes me deep into a lush Amazonian rainforest with her verdant cool, worldly exotic jam. I can’t help but picture a noble tiger adorned in festive & colorful plumage, shaking its rump playfully to TIGRE’s quivering beats. In fact, I want to be that tiger. TIGRE is featured exclusively on the Broad City Original Series Soundtrack, which will be available October 28th on all formats via Milan Records in association with Comedy Central Records. The track left me craving for more Jarina De Marco. If you feel the same way, check out Paranavigar below, a genre defying fusion of moombahton, dancehall, trap, and Brazilian house.
