A few months ago, Swedish act Hellberg dropped a stunning tune named The Girl, featuring bewitching vocals by Cozi Zuehlsdorff. The infectious song is a burst of emotion and beauty. German producer ASALTO brings me back into the song’s gorgeous folds with a remix, but it’s a far more radiant, explosive, and propulsive visit, one that blasts right off into the stratosphere with its uplifting progressive house spirit. It’s exhilarating, thrilling, in a Zedd like way. ASALTO submitted the colossal track to a Monstercat remix competition. Vote for it, here.

The Girl starts off with melodramatic pianos which foreshadow the song’s magnificent and near theatrical levels of bursting emotion and bewitching melodies. It’s a beautifully crystalline and crisp offering from Swedish artist Hellberg. The progressive house single is riveting and breathtaking, as are Cozi Zuehlsdorff’s gorgeous, stunning vocals.

I was keyed into a UK based producer named Muzzy earlier today, and his majestic track Insignia simply blew me away, with a raging force to be reckoned with. This one’s for the EDM heads who like it hard and heavy. Muzzy’s recent single Insignia is a crazy blend of elements from genres across the electronic board, including cinematic house, banging electro, liquid drum & bass, and killer, filthy trap. Yes, if you ever wanted to hear all those things rolled up in one, Insignia’s a must. For me, trap and drum & bass together was a curious treat. For Muzzy’s latest electronic track, just revealed a few days ago, take Lost Metropolis for a spin, below. This one’s more of an atmospheric, transcendental drum & bass piece.

Here’s a new video from indie alt rock act Monster Cat for their song Underwater. It’s a great, soothing listen with a ton of horns, which give it an almost jazzy quality at times. The song is on their 5 track debut Mannequins.

Monster Cat

Thanks to the Snakeweed Sessions Yamagata video, I ended up finding out about Monster Cat who were on the previous session. These alternative tracks are very nice to listen to and watch. I checked out the original album cut for Mannequins off their debut album. However, the softer, live, stripped down and raw versions are far better. Amazing harmonies in their singing. Seems they’re all from Japan?
