Parisian producer Monsieur Adi, the man who previously gave us ravishing remixes of the likes of Lana Del Rey, Smallpools, and more, returns with his take on The Weeknd’s supermassive collaboration with Daft Punk. That’s right, Monsieur Adi brings the French touch to Starboy, and it’s glorious. The intense and extravagant makeover whisks us away on a cinematic roller coaster ride with its bouncy energy and lavish strings. Hit up some of Monsieur Adi’s other tracks on Soundcloud, here.

French producer Monsieur Adi gives Lana Del Rey’s Brooklyn Baby a deliciously pulsing edit. Still there are the tragic vulnerability and sadcore vibes that Lana Del Rey is so perfect at expressing, but with the remix comes a more dramatic, stringy, and edgy atmosphere, one that’s both upbeat and haunting, all at the same time.

Dan Croll’s new tune Nobody Knows, which feature The Very Best, is seriously one of my favorite new tunes to come out of last week’s endless stream of new music. I already featured the music video for the upbeat tune off Dan’s deluxe edition of debut album Sweet Disarray, and I’ve been on the lookout for a Soundcloud stream, to no avail. This new remix of the awesome song by always on point French producer Monsieur Adi did surface today, and it’s my absolute pleasure to get to share the high energy, bright, uplifting rendition with you.

Los Angeles band Smallpools can probably claim to have the fastest rising act of the year, propelling from total anonymity to huge success with their summer anthem Dreaming. I still remember the spring day I stumbled upon the track. When I listened to it, I knew immediately… This band was on to something, Dreaming was going to be a huge hit. Not long after, Smallpools proved they weren’t a one hit wonder with their song Mason Jar. Then they released what is possibly one of the most solid debut EPs of the year. It was a complete package. All the songs made sense, all the songs sounded great, and and the tracks differed enough in sound from each other to stand out individually. Now that the hoopla over Dreaming has started dying down, more ears are turning towards some of the other tracks on the album. French producer Monsieur Adi has taken Mason Jar and created one of his signature electro house remixes for our listening pleasure. Stream it above, and revisit the original edit of Mason Jar below, which has the makings of another huge hit. I look forward to new material from Smallpools.

Om nom nom nom… That’s what came to mind the moment I hit play on French producer Monsieur Adi’s new remix of Tegan and Sara’s super catchy Heartthrob track I Was A Fool. The original is already such an infectious, endearing song that encapsulates heartbreak so perfectly. Monsieur Adi creates a more electric atmosphere and the next thing I know, I’m head bopping and dancing in my chair. Well played, sir, well played.

Monsieur Adi’s new single and Capital Cities remix

August 7, 2013

French producer Monsieur Adi has been making a name for himself with his dope remixes (one of my faves is his remix of Mikky Ekko’s Kids), but he can create some fine original music too. He has a new single coming out soon titled What’s Going On and it features A*M*E on vocals, the same A*M*E on that super sick, banging track Need You (100%) by Duke Dumont. The song samples Soul II Soul’s classic, legendary track Back To Life from 1989, which is still such a hooking tune. The classical music beginning is serene and lovely, then it kicks into gear and bam! Sweet, addictive electro house jam! On top of this new single, Monsieur Adi also dropped his remix of Capital Cities’ Safe and Sound. It’s another remix gem from the talented fresh producer, and who doesn’t love hearing Safe and Sound again in any shape or form? I swear I’ll never ever get tired of that song, no matter how many times I’ve listened to it and how many times I’ve watched it performed live (and I have a TON of times). Dance your hump day away to the new single and the remix below.
