For all the years we’ve been following along with Monogem and the singer songwriter’s sultry burning pop, we’ve still yet to catch her live! Perhaps that will all change next week in Austin, where we’re hoping our schedule will allow us to groove out to Jen Hirsch and her Los Angeles based project. In the meantime, she gets us more than “high” with a welcome return to the new music scene.  Smoldering heater Get You High is her first single since her 2017 EP, 100%. Its muggy, steamy electro-soul and sweet vibey R&B pop leaves us flushed and fevered on this cool March morning. Monogem collaborated with friends like producer Ryan Levine (of WIldling) and co-writer Sydney Wayder (of CLARA-NOVA) on the lavish new jam. The single is out now via AWAL / Kobalt. You can find Get You High on iTunes, here.

[PREMIERE] MONOGEM – I Am (Zach Nicita Remix)

Los Angeles based singer songwriter Jen Hirsch, aka MONOGEM, released her sophomore EP 100% earlier this year, and it’s a 100% must listen assortment of fine electronic and pop songs. Dip your ears in its succulence and sophistication via Soundcloud, here. Today, MONOGEM rounds out her 100% journey with a fresh new remix EP consisting of diverse & superb re-imaginations of the songs off the EP by skilled producers and fellow artists like Paperwhite, Jamie Prado, and ELIS. The four track pack also includes a lusciously ravishing remix of her sensuous billowing song I Am. Zach Nicita, a drummer and producer from New York, transforms the track into a bass rustling, synth smoldering affair. The orchestral lavish future bass/future R&B styled dance remix highlights MONOGEM’s spectacularly arching voice alongside its resplendently inebriating, bold and lush soundscape, leaving us writhing rhythmically in fevered pleasure. The full 100% Remix EP can be streamed off Soundcloud, here, and Spotify, here. Support by purchasing from iTunes, here. Keep up with MONOGEM via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Monogem’s sultry brooding new single is named 100%, but it’s clearly 150% opulent and 200% glamorous when it comes to its intoxicating magnificence. Jen Hirsch, the golden voiced singer songwriter behind the Los Angeles based project, is preparing to release her sophomore EP on May 19th. 100% is its slow simmering title track, a cinematic swirling electro pop/R&B affair heavily inflamed with broiling desire and restless anguish. Kiesza-like classy heat and Jessie Ware-like silken allure bedeck this steamy knockout. Monogem explains that her new single is about the “push and pull between the head and heart, and trusting your instincts to get what you want.” You can pre-order Monogem’s new EP, here, and receive 100% and prior single Wild as instant grat tracks.

Deep chills truly invade my body as I twirl away in ecstasy to a resplendent pulsing, cool pumping remix of LA electropop starlet Monogem’s sultry shimmering Take It Slow by Italian producer Deep Chills. It may be pouring rain in the dead of night outside my window, but this room feels steamy hot and full of life soundtracked by this rich ravishing, sexy enthralling deep house transformation. There’s no “taking it slow” here. We’re in Deep Chill’s fast lane to sonic bliss. The remix is a limited free download, here.

After a six month absence from the new music scene, I can’t be more elated that Monogem is back with fresh new music. The Los Angeles based electropop artist makes a heart fluttering return on Wild, a song replete with smoldering vocals and coruscant swelling synths. Monogem explains that Wild is inspired by “the feeling of letting your hair down and re-lighting your inner spark”. That confident snapping groove and its exultant chorus clearly incites an urge to get up, let go, and dance the night away.

I berate myself constantly for having to miss some of my favorite indie acts at SXSW, and one such act I really hoped to see was Los Angeles’ Monogem. At least I can take comfort for now in melting away to Jen Hirsh’s sensually seductive new song, Take It Slow. Take It Slow is sultry and sexy, its supple R&B and shimmering electropop like an irresistible combination of Jessie Ware with Shura. Despite its torrid libido, Take It Slow is also graceful and sophisticated. The single will be on an upcoming ReverbNation compilation entitled The Watch List, set for release April 22nd.

It’s a trifecta of talent on Better With You, a cool and funky electronic track that sees Finnish producer Lenno joining forces with Los Angeles’ Bee’s Knees. The new original also features slickly alluring vocals by Southern California’s Monogem, whose electro R&B and pop flair are the perfect pairing to the song’s snappy electro beats, rich disco funk, and feel good glide.  Better With You comes from Lenno’s Good Thing EP, which just dropped last Friday on Universal. Stream the song off Spotify above, or Soundcloud below. The Good Thing EP is available from iTunes.

I love Monogem’s Gone, and it’s a requisite revisit now that the Los Angeles based electro R&B and pop duo have released a music video for the plushly pumping beauty. Slinky and smooth Gone ripples with unforgettable hooks, its swaying melody, lustrous synths, and snappy beats lingering within me for all eternity like a warmly glowing, softly sensual blend of Jessie Ware and Shura, all submerged in a vibrating ocean of scintillating electronic complexity. I look forward to being intoxicated by Gone live when Monogem plays SXSW next month.

New York’s INSTRUM takes on indie dance with a remix of Los Angeles chanteuse Monogem’s warmly glowing electro R&B and pop song Gone, and he crushes it. The producer gives Gone a lusciously pulsing, refreshingly soothing makeover on the official remix. INSTRUM’s Gone smoothly bounces between luxuriant deep house, tropical house, and dance pop. It’s a divine remix that leaves me feeling absolutely fantastic. Free download, here.
