OFFICIAL VID: Movement – Us

September 19, 2013

Let’s begin today’s shares with a chill, downtempo beauty from new Sydney trio Movement. Us is a smooth electronic track with a minimalist style that’s fleshed out with silky R&B vocals and some sizzling sensuality. The production and beats are stunningly well done. Us has a hint of UK garage as well as a touch of nu-disco. The track also harbors some delicate Caribou-like complexity. It all works together perfectly. So much so, that I just hit the play button four times. Movement is signed to Modular Records, and they’re a new act to keep a watch on.

As long as I’m on a pre-lala land electro house tangent, I’ll go ahead and throw on Australian producer GLOVES’ brand new remix of Swedish pop duo Rebecca and Fiona’s Luminary Ones. It’s been awhile since GLOVES has put anything new out for us. It’s been awhile since his labelmates Bag Raiders have thrown us anything too. The Luminary Ones remix is super smooth. It really reminds me of Bag Raiders’ songs. It also really lead me to realize how much I miss listening to music from certain Modular artists. It’s a bit late to start up a dance party in my living room, so I’ll have to revisit some great tunes after I get some sleep instead. Monday… Right…

Modular’s Club Mod

September 30, 2011

I saw this on my youtube subscriptions awhile ago, but haven’t gotten around to sharing it yet. Modular Records has some sorta new subdivision called Club Mod that releases singles, and the first one was by 120 Days who hails from Norway. The very cool trippy video goes along with the trippy song.
