Though I’m normally not much of a sweet tooth sort of person, I can’t get enough of Minden’s Real Sugar. The Portland band’s new music video for the song affords us a re-visit of the song to assuage our craving for Real Sugar’s psychedelic shimmering, fizzy bubbling pop. The honeyed gem is like a dazzling mixture of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Peter Bjorn and John, and Børns, a languid refreshing splash of effervescent soda pop. The decadent yet mysterious visualizer for the song couldn’t be more fitting. Real Sugar is the lead track from Minden’s new album, “Sweet, Simple Things”, out now via Hit City USA.

If love is bad, then I’m in deep trouble, because I’m in love with Minden’s latest fizzy shimmering tune. I’m hooked on the gooey indie pop of Love Is Bad, whose smooth sensual funk is an ode to sweet romance turned sour. The psychedelic soulfulness of the dreamy tune combined with its sleek charm tastes like a sumptuous cocktail made up of equal parts Phoenix, Ariel Pink, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Love Is Bad comes from this Portland based band’s forthcoming full length, Sweet, Simple Things, out August 5th on Hit City U.S.A. The album can be pre-ordered from iTunes.

Psychedelic shimmers and fizzy bubbling indie pop emanate from Minden’s Real Sugar. The Portland based band go funky dreamy on their first taste from their Sweet, Simple Things album due out later this summer on Hit City U.S.A. It’s kaleidoscopic soul, candied vocals, and snappy beat are like a honeyed dazzling mixture of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Peter Bjorn and John, and Børns. I can’t get enough of Real Sugar’s saccharine soda pop effervescence. Minden leaves me with a sudden urge to run out to the store and purchase me a nice 2 liter bottle of ice cold fruity pop. It isn’t even a hot summer day, but it sounds so refreshing and satisfying.
