Don’t be mislead by the title of this song, Mick Jagger. If you were expecting loud classic rock, you’re in the wrong place. The single, by Brooklyn indie psych rockers Baked, is an intricate, mucky, thumping tour de force that sounds far more Grizzly Bear or Local Natives than Stones. The folksy flavored psych pop track is an impressive lead single off the band’s upcoming debut album Debt, out August 19 on Exploding In Sound. If the rest of the album is anything like Mick Jagger, they’re definitely going to be a new hipster and critic’s darling come fall.

Win of AF + Rolling Stones!

June 10, 2013

The Rolling Stones have been touring and inviting some great guests on stage at their different stops, but this one has got to be one of the coolest yet. While in Montreal, who else should be invited on stage but Montreal resident Win Butler of Arcade Fire? The crummy video clip by a fan leaves lots to be desired, but I was still mesmerized by their performance of The Last Time from beginning to end. I also never noticed how gigantor Win actually is??? How come he looks so huge next to the Stones? Or is it that I never realized how tiny Jagger and the rest of em are?

The Stones… and Florence

November 30, 2012

The Rolling Stones. With Florence Welch. On stage. Together. Performing the Stones’ classic Gimme Shelter. I guess she’s got the moves like Jagger! Epic. Check it.

OFFICIAL VID: The Rolling Stones – Doom and Gloom

November 22, 2012

It’s crazy that in 2012, we have a brand new single and video from the legendary Stones. But here we are. And here’s Doom and Gloom, a cut of good ol’ traditional rock and roll. The awesome video stars Noomi Rapace, whom to me, will always be the amazing actress who did Lisbeth Salander justice in the Swedish, original Girl With A Dragon Tattoo film adaptation. It’s only fitting that she gets immortalized in a Stones video. Doom and Gloom is one of the new songs off The Rolling Stones’ coming hits album GRRR!
