The crisp and airy synthpop found on misty swirling, sleek pulsing I Thought You Needed My Love raises us to the heavens despite its rather angst ridden restlessness. The song is the latest single from oft IHM praised Brooklyn project Memorry or electropop producer Shaun Hettinger, and it features California based producer ODD YEAR, too. I Thought You Needed My Love’s buoyant bouncing beat make this one of Memoryy’s most danceable tunes to date. Combined with its irresistible hook ridden melody, it becomes near impossible not to fall head over heels for this first taste from Memoryy’s new full length album, SKELETONS, arriving this March. Snag the tune from iTunes as we await more treats off that release.

I’m just a “Memoryy track away” from being too “sonic drunk”, to be honest. That’s how inebriating the Brooklyn musician has proven to be many times over with his glossy, creamy synthpop. Memorry’s remix of fellow New York artist King Deco’s massive new pop single Read My Lips is the final straw I need to be full on tipsy dazed. This woozy wobbling, hazy warbling future bass remix is dark dreamy entrancing. Its murky, syrupy atmosphere and King Deco’s honeyed crisp voice make for a bewitching contrast, resulting in a far more moody pensive Read My Lips.

Soulful NYC crooner Troy’s Song Man has been wildly popular on Spotify. It’s also on the receiving end of a brilliant remix by Brooklyn’s Memoryy, who turns it into a scorching conflagration of sweeping electropop and emotive indie dance. He’s given the song a spacious and atmospheric edit, and it’s but one of Memoryy’s fine achievements this year (he also wrote the new Netflix Chelsea Handler theme song and has several Hype Machine hits). If Memorry’s remix of Song Man doesn’t touch your soul, then you must be made of titanium.

For a sun drenched, beachy, yet nearly psychedelic Passion Pit evoking treat, listen to Brooklyn act Memoryy’s new single Eternal Sunshine. The synthpop song alternates between dizzying layering and muggy, smooth moments. If Passion Pit went tropical disco and hit up Hot Chip in the 80s, they just might drop a sultry, dreamy dance pop tune like Eternal Sunshine.

Brooklyn act Memoryy swept onto my radar today with his song and video Feels Like The First Time, which, for me, really is the first time I’ve encountered his synthpop music. Drenched in nostalgic, dramatic 80’s atmosphere and a foggy dreaminess, Feels Like The First TIme is incredibly catchy and addictive. Based on the school reunion video below, that seems to be exactly the kind of effect that Memorry was going for. I find myself reminded of some of Twin Shadow’s epic synthpop songs, since he goes for some of the same sanguine atmosphere on a lot of his songs. Memorry will release his Young Oblivion EP come September 30 on Wondering Sound, co-produced with Brothertiger and, on one song, with The Golden Pony.
