LUME, the spellbinding newcomer from the UK who mesmerized us with her dark pulsing, synth whirring debut Magnets just a few months prior, is back with yet another bewitching noire-pop single. It’s called Tip Of Your Thumb, and it’s a moody tingling, ominous winding sophomore track that solidifies LUME’s status as a pop artist to watch. On it, she highlights themes of getting sucked into other people’s issues and drama, as related to internet trolls and gossiping. Fierce brooding Tip Of Your Thumb, which LUME wrote and produced in her bedroom studio, is a scintillating taste and the title track from her forthcoming debut EP.  “I wanted the song to feel like it was playful, whilst relaying a deeper message,” explains LUME, who built the song around bluesy chain-gang verses. She continues, “it’s about the culture of typing our thoughts and fighting social media wars with smart phones, where our thumb takes over to replace our voice.” LUME’s four track debut EP will be arriving in March. You can re-visit debut single Magnets below, or stream her music via Spotify, here.

New UK chanteuse LUME makes an illuminating entrance on debut single Magnets, a dark pulsing, synth whirring electro & alt pop ballad that burns and broods spectacularly. “Magnets is about being constantly drawn to somebody no matter how much time and distance you put in between you both,” explains LUME, “It began with this idea that you could almost be ‘watermarked’ by a person, kind of branded to each other, whether you wanted to be or not.” We find ourselves drawn to LUME like she’s a magnet. Her hypnotic vocals and the torrid simmering song fuse the dusky bewitchment of Lorde with the sultry allure of VÉRITÉ. You can also stream Magnets via Spotify, here.

Disclosure has been revealing some red hot remixes of my favorite track off Caracal, Lorde featuring Magnets. We’ve heard their sick VIP remix which takes the jam into more Settle like territory, but now, we turn our eager ears to a lavish house remix by much loved production wizard A-Trak. It bounces with luscious bass and races along with an energized tempo. There’s no stopping yourself from dancing to this one.

Disclosure’s Magnets, featuring Lorde, is probably my favorite track off the UK duo’s much anticipated sophomore album Caracal. It’s also the latest single from the album, and Disclosure has revealed their own VIP remix of Magnets. They really up the ante with this magnificent remix that goes deeper and more garage entrancing than the original, reflecting a sound more similar to some of my favorites from debut album Settle. Suffice to say, I’m in love with this VIP, maybe even more so than the original.

Disclosure’s Magnets, featuring dark pop princess Lorde, is easily a favorite of mine off the UK duo’s eagerly welcomed second album Caracal. I can’t help but picture the wicked video for the tune every time I hear it, too. It’s a very different scene that we’re welcomed into on a remix of the track by British producer SG Lewis, who doles out an edit that takes us in a whole new direction. He pitch shifts Lorde’s vocals and turns down on the official remix, creating a fluid experience that ripples and shimmers sensually. The bubbly texture reminds me of Melanie Martinez’s Soap, but chilled out and softly chopped up in a sublimely transfixing fashion. SG Lewis’ Magnets pulls me in under water. We’re now in the pool that we see in the original Magnets video, rather than above it. No light escapes this dreamy pool, as it gets refracted and distorted beautifully and hauntingly. Stream the track off Majestic Casual above or Soundcloud below.

If you want to watch a killer video, soundtracked by a wicked good tune, and you love seeing Lorde kicking some butt, then you’re in for a real treat. Today saw the release of a music video for Disclosure’s Magnets, which of course, features Lorde on bewitching vocal duty. The track is off Disclosure’s just released sophomore album Caracal, one of the most eagerly anticipated releases all year long. Grab some popcorn and let’s all enjoy how cool Lorde is in this video. The ending is rather satisfying, trust me. If you haven’t snagged your copy of star studded Caracal yet, it’s available on iTunes.

Hello, there! This is a nice stand out purty track of the day to stumble upon at the end of the day! It’s crystal clear and not haunting at all, for once (today)! The vocals are gorgeous. Black Gold Buffalo is Keziah Stilwell and she hails from London. Magnets is her debut single, and it’s a gentle, soaring beauty. There’s an ample amount of charming strings on the relatively sparse and simple pop tune. There isn’t much I could dig up about her just yet, but I’m keeping my eye on this one. There’s some live videos on Youtube but that’s about it.
