UK producer Luvian, who first won our hearts over over four years ago with his superb remixes, has unveiled a captivating video for his single Rooms, which features Amber on beautifully limber vocals. The airy plinking, supple cantering, and soulful stirring electronic song is the lead single from Luvian’s A Time & Place EP, out now via Ultra. Luvian’s new video is set across several picturesque landscapes. It focuses on the wistfulness of the sea, in contrast to the rebirth of decaying flowers. His new EP is a five-track production that showcases Luvian’s expansive sonic palette, replete with synthetic sounds, guitar riffs, and playful keys. You can find the EP, here.

I’m certainly going through a block of lovely, downtempo music right now. Following up the last few with this beautiful remix of Mao’s No Love featuring Dems, by rising UK producer Luvian. We last heard of him via his amazing remix of SOHN’s The Wheel. Always adept at creating hazy, dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes, his remix of No Love is scintillatingly minimalist, yet lush.

By now, you should be fully aware of my love for Vienna based producer SOHN. The Wheel is only one of so many amazing tunes by the artist, who blew my mind away when I last saw him live with a backing band. I’m also a fan of UK producer Luvian, who is very adept at creating hazy, lush, dreamy soundscapes in his productions. So, what happens when Luvian remixes SOHN? Beautiful bliss. That’s what happens.

OFFICIAL VID: Luvian – Valley Girl

July 13, 2013

There are throngs of amazing young bedroom electronic producers these days coming out of Australia and the UK. My latest find is Brighton (UK) producer Luvian, aka Alex Fox. His latest track and video, Valley Girl, creates a dreamy, lush soundscape with hazy visuals to match. Think of a more toned down, much more chill Flume. It’s a detailed, tasty morsel that’s over far too quickly, leaving me hungering for more. Listen to some more songs by Luvian below, including a stunning remix of Bon Iver’s Holocene, all filled with a brilliant ambience and beauty.
