We don’t really believe LINES when they name their song “We Will Never Rule The World”. I’m pretty sure with some sly planning, the Swedish project could take over the globe with their kinetic music. Just listen to LINES’ razor-sharp new single, a prickly slicing dance pop and dark electro-pop jam with thrilling industrial undertones. We Will Never Rule The World features female noise rockers Dolores Haze on guest vocals. They add a whole lot of spice and spunk to the already feisty chopper of a tune. LINES music has been described as “unadulterated euphoric nihilism”. We Will Never Rule The World is easily the quintessential embodiment of that statement with its pulsing beats, frenetic synths, and vociferous vocals. Listen to LINES’ music on Spotify, here.

Swedish project Lines (IIIII), aside having one of the more enigmatic names in the business, have been making a huge impression on the scene with their dazzling electronica, which have spawned some astonishing remixes by other producers like Opvs and Spirix, too. You could say they have their sleek swaggering, synth cinematic sound “locked down” pat. Case in point, Lines’ magnificent new tune, Lockdown. The bold and brazen track defies the boundaries of genre classification with its glacial vocals, quixotic synths, and acute beats. Electro, alt pop, and synthpop intermingle on the vivid and defiant track, an ode to obsession and isolation whose vocals remind me of Sweden’s Sailor & I, but surrounded by an ever shifting, always twitching electronic environment. Lines’ prior releases and some of those aforementioned remixes can be streamed via Soundcloud, here.

Swedish project Lines (IIIII) gave us one heckuva tune in You, a wildly infectious, fluorescent pumping electronic track which you can re-visit in its original form, here. Just when we thought we couldn’t love the song anymore, Los Angeles based electronic act Spirix has given it an utterly ravishing, thoroughly moving future bass update via an epic remix. Spirix injects the track with a fresh dose of energy and regal swelling synths on the euphoric edit. The larger than life remix lifts our spirits sky high, even as we try to kick our feet sky high to its whomping beats and towering chops. Grab the remix for free, here.

I hope you didn’t miss our fervent praise for Dutch newcomer Bülow last month when she created a stir in the tastemaker community with her debut electro pop single This Is Not A Love Song. Its cheeky infectiousness and airy R&B pop sass reminded us of two other artists we adore, including Mallrat and Olivia O’Brien. The growing 17 year old pop sensation has since released a debut EP named Damaged Vol. 1. The three track collection closes out with this bubbly aerated fusion of hip hop beats, electro elements, and dulcet R&B pop named Lines, which now comes accompanied by a fresh visualizer. Bülow is without a doubt one to watch in the coming year. Stream/download Damaged Vol. 1 via major outlets, here.

It’s only proper I get this next smashing banger shared before the end of the weekend, considering it’s actually named Weekends, and it’s an eruption of high octane dance energy. Weekends comes to us by way of an exciting Swedish project named IIIII (Lines), who dish out an exhilarating form of whirring electronica meets dark synthpop on the thunderous booming sonic dazzler. Weekends is out now on iTunes.

My mind leaves my body and hovers in the air above me in daydream mode under the spell cast by AxMod’s Lines. The 22 year old Parisian producer engulfs me in chill ecstasy with his tranquilly haunting electronic gem. Singer Martha Pathon’s feathery vocals add to the softly shimmering song’s mesmeric effect, sending shivers through my whole of my body. The breathtaking beauty is available from AxMod’s Facebook page.

There’s a new Swedish quartet that debuted their first song lately, and they go by the name IIIII. That’s right, five lines, hence the way to pronounce their name is “Lines”, or so I’ve learned. People is their very first single, featuring Adele Kosman of For BDK, and it’s a dizzying blast of frenetic electronic pop music. Dancing to and fro with such whimsical production, the MGMT and Empire Of the Sun evoking song also carries an irresistibly hooking melody. People is an intoxicating and jovial anthem, one that will get stuck in your head for days on end. IIIII also released a music video for the song recently, which you can find below. The Swedes are working on a debut EP for early 2015, and I can’t wait to hear what else they have up their sleeves.

Big Boi + A$AP Rocky + Phantogram

Booyah. That’s a heckuva combo! Outkast may be no more, but Big Boi has been so busy with so many collaborations lately for his new album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. That long awaited new album drops on December 11 and features tracks iwth Kelly Rowland, Theophilus London, and many others. There WAS supposed to be a track with Little Dragon but some bureaucracy or something or other happened along the way. Today, we get to hear Lines, a collaboration with red hot rapper A$AP Rocky and indie electopop act Phantogram. And boy, does this combo work. Either that, or I’m blinded by how epic it is to have all 3 of these acts on the same song. Hmm. Nope. This one SICK track. WOW.
