My heart skipped a beat when I encountered this remix of Zeds Dead’s Lights Out, featuring Atlas. I saw the name Delta Heavy, and I knew, this was going to be an astonishing experience. I’ve been a long time fan of this English production duo, whose heavy hitting drum & bass and dubstep hybrids have thrilled me countless times over the years. And their videos, like their animation for hit single Hold Me, are just too deliciously twisted and entertaining. So, I dove eagerly into the pair’s new remix, and I was thoroughly fulfilled by its laser sharp pulsing, cracking percussion, and jagged wobbling. Delta Heavy’s adrenaline pumping edit of Lights Out is part of the new juggernaut remix pack which Zeds Dead released last week. You can grab your copy of Northern Lights (Remixes), here.

Controversy and drama aside, it’s undeniable that California’s Hippie Sabotage is well versed in the electronic arts. After all, these are the fellows who gave us Habits, that tantalizing Tove Lo flip which I’ll love till the day I die. The duo make their return to IHM with a fresh new re-work, turning their attention to pop purveyor JØUR’s cottony floating pop gem, American Nightmare. They sample the track and forge Lights Out from its components, serving up an electrifying future beats cut full of restless, fidgeting energy. Stuttering drums and rolling snares jab at us mercilessly, delivering a sensory explosion of ambient sonic magnificence. Listen to the original, here. The difference is night and day.

1000Volts is living up to their name, which comes as no surprise considering the duo is made up of two esteemed artists including legendary artist/rapper Redman and fast rising American producer Jayceeoh. Their blend of electronica and hip hop is intense and gripping, as can be heard on their immense second single Lights Out, a song which Jayceeoh co-produced with Hollywood producer B-Sides. The trio make an inimitable union on the riveting track, which has now received a music video treatment crafted by their buddy Maculate. Don’t miss out on this clip if you’re an Adventure Time fan. 1000Volts’ Lights Out is a free download, here.

I seem to be on one heckuva Aussie kick to start today’s shares off, because this spectacular treat also comes from Down Under! By way of Adelaide hails a new indie and electro rock outfit made up of friends and brothers. Cabin Cults’ gripping blend of bright synths, stalwart guitar, spirited drums, and explosive vocals had me hooked immediately on the band’s debut single Lights Out. Lights Out is a romping anthem, a sweeping burst of grandeur on which Cabin Cults worked with Badcop (Tkay Maidza, Mio). They inject me with the urge to get up from my office chair and jump as high as I can to the song’s avid beats. Lights Out’s melodic majesty reminds me of Young The Giant while its roaring energy remind me of the Pixies. The song is the first single from the four piece’s debut EP, Riot is the Watchword.
