Life feels a little bit less solitary and far less lonely when accompanied by marvelous music, which is exactly what Lonely Benson serves up on his fresh new synthpop, chill disco, and psych pop jam, Let It Go. The plush grooving, sultry smoldering tune is the Nashville artist’s first single of the year. It undulates, surges, and swells, all the while winding through an intricate array of incendiary guitar work, jazzy keys, effects-laced vocals, and an infectiously lush, spacey whirring atmosphere. Let It Go arrives alongside the release of Lonely Benson’s Will Pugh produced full-length debut, featuring fan favorites like psychedelic Location and Spotify smash hit Strawberry Afternoons. Stream Lonely Benson’s eponymous debut album on Soundcloud, here, and support via iTunes, here.

I still remember the first day I encountered James Bay’s Let It Go. First of all, I had to scoop myself off the floor after being melted into a puddle by his beautiful voice and the emotive rhapsody of the song. Second of all, I knew right then, this guy was going to do big things in music. NYC’s HYTYD (High Tide) takes me back to that moment with his remix of Let It Go, which begins rather untouched, focused on that pure guitar and James’ divine voice, before venturing into electronic dance magnificence. This is Let It Go with an infusion of crisply slicing yet smoothly streaming energy. It feels as much as tribute to the original as much as an innovative interpretation of the song. HYTYD takes us from valleys of melancholy to peaks of inspired optimism. Download the marvelous remix for free, here.

I can’t wait to return to Austin in a couple months for SXSW. But I’ve come to learn that not only is Austin a hot bed of musical activity in March, but it’s also a haven for musical talent all year long. Take for example, this duo from that lovely town, a producer and vocalist duo named LZRS TXN. They list their genres as intergalactic groovy chillwave hip hop, and their single Let It Go (not at all related to James Bay or Frozen) is a lavish current of chill hop and electronica bliss. I get carried away by its warm, dreamy flux as its surges of dance euphoria take me to new levels of highs. The luxuriant song is a free download direct from LZRS TXN’s Soundcloud, here.

If it’s tenderly melting indie folk music you’re craving for, it’s time to dive into Joshua Hyslop’s beautifully mellifluous ballad, Let It Go. The lulling, alt-country leaning acoustic folk number is the first taste from the Vancouver based singer songwriter’s newly announced sophomore album, In Deepest Blue, due out October 23rd via Nettwerk Records. The song, which was written in Nashville and finished back in Canada, is wonderfully soothing and calming, brimming with a lighthearted optimism. Let It Go is available on iTunes.

Suffolk, UK based artist To Be Frank tells a bittersweet, poignant tale on his new single Let It Go. The melancholic ballad is off his forthcoming album, U, to be released January 26. Minimalist production, mournful strings, and soulful, R&B imbued crooning create a stark and emotional atmosphere, one that’s utterly compelling and touching.

Remixes of fast rising UK singer songwriter James Bay’s most endearing and melting song, Let It Go, are starting to roll in. Of course, the folksy sound and pastoral charm of Let It Go lends itself nicely to a chill, melodic, and tropics imbued remix. Romanian producer Boehm turns in a soul nourishing, sumptuous remix exactly in that vein, but he also infuses the jam with tons of sultry, intoxicating saxophone. And I can’t help but swoon.

London’s Saint Saviour melted me endlessly with her music, some of the most tender, beautiful songs I’ve listened to in awhile. Seriously, I had to tear myself away from her tunes earlier, in order to continue checking out more new artists. Saint Savior’s latest single off new album In The Seams is Let It Go, an exquisite and melancholic song that reminds me of some of Beck’s more moody, symphonic pieces (like his cover of Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime). Her delicate, elegant vocals also evoke Alison Goldfrapp and Kylie Minogue, with a touch of Jewel. Watch the moving recent video for Let It Go below. And, for another gorgeous Saint Saviour song, stream the enchanting, gossamer I Remember below the video, too.

I figured this was going to happen sooner or later, and I was right, a tropical house remix of UK singer songwriter James Bay’s utterly melting folk gem Let It Go has surfaced! The gentle ballad is obviously a perfect, ripe choice for a gliding, sunkissed electronic remix. I’m glad Norwegian producer Bearson chose to do it, giving the song his signature relaxed, melodic production, all the while balancing the original’s yearning melancholy. The remix seems to capture that moment after you’ve already let it go, and a weight has been lifted, regardless of the hint of nostalgia still settling within.
