It’s not often that a primo Weezer remix crops up, much less a disco inspired one, but that’s exactly what Brooklyn nu-disco producer LEFTI has crafted for the legendary punk and power pop band. LEFTI gives Weezer’s Pacific Daydream track Happy Hour a plump grooving dance makeover on his official remix, and it’s as happy a three minutes as can be. This Happy Hour is like a blend of RAC and Breakbot, with a whole lot of frisky buoyancy. You can snag LEFTI’s remix from iTunes, here.

Nu-disco is a welcome treat in my books any time and all the time. It’s tough to feel dour or act sour when accosted by the plucky strutting, retro wavey sheen of LEFTI’s All The Time, which features glamorous falsettos by Cody Fitzgerald. The Brooklyn producer twirls us round and round with this sleek soiree, a must for fans of Chromeo’s electro funk, Friendly Fires’ cowbell resplendent dance punk, and Justice’s decadent French electro. All that’s missing right now as I spin around my room is a shiny disco ball. Grab LEFTI’s snazzy banger from iTunes, here.

It’s nary been a week since LEFTI linked up with Equal to give us slick snazzy The Way I Move, yet the Brooklyn producer is already presenting us with more resplendent dance pop vibes on new single City Heart. It’s a neon effusion of synthpop, French electro, and nu-disco that he bathes us in today. There’s no choice but to dance to this euphoric and romantic potion, a collaboration with co-writer and vocalist Louis Epstein. City Heart leaves me flushed and enamored to the fullest.

Echo Park’s Morgxn has proven himself a sultry Casanova and vocal captivator with his magnificent music that oft blurs the lines between soul, rock, pop, and R&B. On one of his latest songs, Home, he even douses us with some splendid gospel harmonies and a fiery booming bassline. It’s that fabulous tune we now get to re-visit but in a very different light, thanks to a remix by Brooklyn DJ and producer LEFTI. Prepare yourself for a tightly wound joyride, one with plump synths and ripe bass. LEFTI gives Home his signature French house flavored electro disco treatment, one delightfully juicy and luscious, glamorous and flashy. Re-visit the original on Morgxn’s Soundcloud.

I’m filled with throwback euphoria from the dance 90′s by Belfast’s Kristian Nairn on his blissful entrancing remix of Australian artist Brendan Maclean’s Tectonic. Yes, you read that right. I’ve yet to find enough time to watch Game of Thrones, but even I know Kristian Nairn is well known for his role on the popular HBO show. The actor/producer’s remix pops and leaps vivaciously, an electropop meets trance and indie dance libation full of tidal joy. Watch the video for the original produced by LEFTI, here.

“Next Jack Swing” goes chunky disco on a dazzling remix of French Horn Rebellion’s Play Your Part by NYC production wizard LEFTI. The original track, which features Spencer Ludwig of Capital Cities trumpet fame, is already a scintillating treat with swooning horns. LEFTI’s edit takes it to new levels of daring dance floor boldness. It’s richly luminous and glamorously exuberant. The original comes from French Horn Rebellion’s exhilarating Foolin’ Around EP, available on iTunes.

Last week, emerging Portland artist Leo Islo released his Oh Dystopia EP. On top of the electro-funk and chillwave infused electro R&B title track I’ve already shared, the EP is full of rad remixes, too. On one of the remixes, Oh Dystopia gets a luscious disco edit by LEFTI. The NYC producer brings his glamorous booty shaking energy to Leo Oslo’s fine single, making it the perfect get up and dance jam. Everything is so smooth and congruent that it feels like we’re as far from “dystopia” as can be. Purchase the remix and the rest of the EP on iTunes.

The latest killer remix of Gallant’s much edited tune Weight In Gold comes by way of LEFTI. The NYC based producer gives us a gloriously throbbing disco makeover ripe monumental night of electro boogie indulgence. We’ve heard Gallant’s spectacular voice framed in all kinds of soundscapes in past months, but it’s extra gilded and stately in LEFTI’s remix. It’s near imperial. Download LEFTI’s chic banger on Soundcloud.

I’m still reeling at how amazing JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN) and Young & Sick’s new project together, Sharer, sounds. Debut song Body Tonight gets its funky disco vibrancy channeled into a boogie ready torrent of nu-disco goodness, thanks to a luscious remix by NYC’s LEFTI. Take advantage of these last few weeks of summer with this flushed, sexy dance jam, complete with bongos and other breezy elements. The remix will be on Sharer’s Body Tonight release, out August 21st, along with the original and a remix by Midnight Magic.
