Let’s continue to bring some chill feels tonight with a treasured new discovery named NAUUDA. The project hails from Norway, and the two producers behind it have mesmerized me with their chill jazzy hip hop and suave electronica on ‘up’. We’ve been having some wet weather here in San Francisco this week. ‘up’ is the perfect accompaniment. It warms us up yet and keeps us intoxicated from start to finish with its choppy vocals and foggy percolating beats. The track even features some sampling of a rain storm. NAUUDA drenches us with late night vibes and a snazzy groove. For another taste of the pair’s music, stream ‘party’ below, too. It’s more uptempo with its breaking mixture of house, jungle, and garage, and it even samples Alessia Cara’s Here.

Canadian R&B musician Tommy Paxton-Beesley has made an indelible impression on the world as River Tiber, even catching the attention of fellow Toronto artist Drake in the process, which lead to their collaboration on Drake’s widely celebrated 2015 album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. River Tiber is also known for working with BADBADNOTGOOD and Kaytranada, as well as Jazz Cartier. It’s been awhile since IHM checked in on the artist. Just in time for the coldest, shortest days of the year comes his warm caressing, velvety smoldering new ballad, Patience. A soupy, murky mixture of broiling R&B and plush electronica oozes late night longing and heartbroken melancholia, but in a steamy seductive, sensually evocative fashion. Ever astonishing are River Tiber’s exceptional vocals. We reel under the weight of so much heated passion. Patience can also be streamed via Soundcloud below.

Well, the masterminds that make up Seattle two piece ODESZA really know how to surprise their fans. We happily dove into expected new tune Line of Sight earlier. But guess what? They’ve dropped ANOTHER new one, and it’s even more exultantly fabulous than the first! Late Night is a triumphant dalliance, a jubilant and euphoric spectacular. The instrumental track takes us on an ambient yet vivacious adventure. Late Night’s effervescent sheen and its dreamy guitar purrs combine like an elated gathering of ODESZA, Tycho, and Justice. This is a song that I could ride into the late night hours and beyond. It’s the soundtrack for reckless youthfulness and foolhardy fun. When a golden luscious sun finally rises in the distance, it promises a new day of hope and warmth, or perhaps the knowledge that another night is just around the corner. You can purchase ODESZA’s second new single of the day from major outlets, here.

Jadu Heart soundtracks my late night with a splendorous song named Late Night that leaves me tingling with its resplendent hooking synthpop and indietronica. The production and songwriting duo based in the UK are signed to Mura Masa’s Anchor Point Records, who himself calls their music “probably the most exciting musical thing I’ve ever heard”. I must concur. Late Night is the lead single from Jadu Heart’s second EP, Ezra’s Garden. Its smooth yet punchy soundscape smolders seductively and simmers wistfully. An 80′s tropical groove, lavish percussion, and flushed guitar take us into a lush wonderland. A series of video will accompany Jadu Heart’s full sophomore EP release on September 9th. Late Night is available now from iTunes.

Producer Roland Tings turns fellow Australian electronic act Catlips’ debut single Fade into a mesmerizing late night deep house treat. It’s a seductive and spacey remix that exudes both swanky elegance and a teasing playfulness. Think Toro Y Moi hopped up on some caffeine, electrified and wide eyed.

A music buddy of mine keyed me into this hot stuff earlier today, and it’s the perfect music to add to your light night bedroom playlist. Australia’s Nicole Millar and Zuri Akoko have teamed up for a series of incredible covers, giving a sensual electronic spin to these hits that turn them entirely on their heels. Stream Nicole & Zuri’s version of 21 Questions above, a gossamer, opulent haunter miles away from the 50 Cent original. You might recognize Nicole Millar from her guest stint on Peking Duk hit High, while Zuri Akoko offered up an intricate remix of Oscar Key Sung’s Holograms last year. Apparently, the two make a divine pairing and are obviously ones to watch. Head over to Zuri’s Soundcloud to listen to the duo’s other covers, including renditions of Shlomo’s Bo Peep and Mya’s Like Wo.

OFFICIAL VID: Foals – Bad Habit

English dance punk/rock band Foals dropped their third studio album Holy Fire earlier this year, and for me, it feels like ages and ages ago. It was a heckuva album with countless amazing songs, some of them a departure from their usual sound (ie. Inhalers in particular). Other tracks definitely harkened back to the sound many of us were used to from the first couple of albums from the talented band. Today, they released a video for one of those tracks, Bad Habit. It’s been awhile since I’ve listened to Foals, and the release brings me right back into the midst of Holy Fire. Suddenly, I want to listen to the album again. As great as so many of the songs off that album are, Late Night is still my favorite. That guitar solo at the end? Mmmmmmm…

I saw this one floating around quite a bit today before I had a chance to finally check it out. While ALL of Holy Fire is freaking good (and amazing live to boot), Late Night is likely my favorite song off of Foals’ recent album. It also has my favorite guitar solo section of 2013 so far. So satisfying. So good. For a toned down, textured, electric, atmospheric version of Late Night, turn to this incredible remix by UK producer Koreless. Transcendental. Wow.
