Have you ever wondered what it might sound like if Sam Smith went vibrant electronica on us, but maintained his sweetly molten, satin stirring effect? I mean, we did get some of that from the rapturous remixes of Sam’s songs we’ve had in the past. But Lash’s I’m Gonna Be There encapsulates those vibes while triumphantly enthralling as a fresh and original composition. The Los Angeles based producer (formerly a duo) melds saccharine future pop with tropical house on the heartwarming and comforting dance gem. Purchase/stream I’m Gonna Be There, here.

I seem to be having a run of bad luck when it comes to my craving to see K.Flay live all over again despite the countless times I’ve already seen the Stanford alumni slay it on stage with her virile fusion of hip hop seasoned, grimy gripping music. Though she graced the stage at Live 105′s Not So Silent Night just this past weekend, I was unable to arrive early enough to witness her set due to a major pet cat crisis that I’ve been weathering at home. I’ll just assuage my aching heart and lick my wounds with the latest phenomenal remix of her music while I wait for my next chance to see K.Flay. Wicked ferocious Blood In My Cut, the musician’s best song to date, gets the Lash treatment as the production duo turns the song into a future trap meets house spectacular. The remix is some of the darkest tracks we’ve heard from the duo, and it’s a “lashing” of sorts that I readily embrace. Download the remix, here.

Florida’s emerging pop talent, Emily Vaughn, gave us a bold and infectious second song some months ago named Better Off. She captivated me thoroughly with the tune, an arresting pop anthem that reminded me of Zella Day and Tove Lo, with a hint of smoky BANKS. It’s a very different climate she sings in on a remix of Better Off by electronic duo Lash, who give us a richly driving deep house Better Off with jagged future edge and some cool summer glow. The duo stated that their prior releases have been more pop sounding, so they wanted to return to their original Lash sound with this future/deep vibe. Download the banging remix for free, here.

It’s pretty hard for me to resist remixes of Phoebe Ryan’s insanely hooking pop debut, Mine. Considering it’s been awhile since I’ve encountered any, I was much elated to find out that electronic duo Lash have unleashed an enchanting deep house edit that leaves Phoebe’s breathy vocals front and center but pairs it with bouncy chords and futuristic high energy chops. Hearing Mine takes me back to the beginning of the year. It’s as if spring and summer are ahead of us again as I dance away to Lash’s glowing remix. Download the track for free, here.

Lash wanted to make something more melodic to close out the summer, so the Domincan Republic based duo decided to create a gorgeous remix of Rita Ora’s Poison. This one’s a sweet, enticing poison, full of deep house and future house jubilation and inspiring radiance. It’s an anthem to transport those summer vibes straight into the rest of the year. Rita Ora’s voice is pure gold on the track, making me extra regretful that I just missed catching her live at the Independent in San Francisco a couple weeks back. Download for free, here.

Dominican Republic based production duo Lash is the latest talented electronic act to focus their editing skills on UK sensation Years & Years’ colossal hit, King. And boy, have they crafted a dazzling, fierce remix. Lash’s Years & Years is a vehemently pounding and furiously thumping deep house creature that seduces and hooks. Paired with copious future house edginess, this is a dark and thrilling monarch, one with a playful smirk and a compelling magnetism.

Imagine Dragons’ I Bet My Life is incredibly catchy to begin with, so much so that it’s been used in television adverts as an unforgettable, earworm of a jangle (sadly, I can’t remember the exact company the advertisement it was for, fail). Lash offers up a remix of I Bet My Life that I might love even more than the original. The duo from the Dominican Republic bring a bountiful bundle of their breezy island vibes to the track, melded into some hypnotizing, pulsing future house tendencies. It’s a feel good house remix that puts the whole world in a “cup half full” light of jovial optimism. Woohoo, tomorrow’s Friday! Woohoo, the Warriors are up 3-0 against the Pels! Woohoo, woohoo! I love you, world.

Galantis’ Runaway (U & I) seems to be the remix song du jour of the moment, something I’ve noticed over the course of this week. Everyday, remixes and bootlegs are rolling in. One such remix to be making waves is this luscious deep and future house one, by Dominican Republic based duo Lash. I’ll runaway any day to that funky bassline.
