I’m watching the time tick away, coming to the realization that I probably won’t be receiving that new BØRNS album till next week (insert sad face). The psych pop virtuoso made waves all around when he released his first album Dopamine in 2015, and he’s poised to do the same with Blue Madonna, out today. We were blown away a week ago when he premiered a new song off the album featuring Lana Del Rey. As it turns out, Lana Del Rey also graces Blue Madonna’s title track with her breathy seductive voice. Though I must wait a few more days to enjoy BØRNS’ new music in CD quality, I’m more than grateful we get to take in the muggy slinking, wavy shimmering electro/psych pop of Blue Madonna now. Stream the track off Spotify, here

BØRNS’ new album is available, here.

Happy New Year, everyone. We’re back with some fine new music, and to kick off 2018 strong, let’s dive into that much adored new collaboration involving psych pop extraordinaire BØRNS and sadcore queen Lana Del Rey! I recall mentioning before that it would be a dream for the two to do a song together, particularly after some of BØRNS’ music reminded me greatly of her (ie. American Money), and here we are, blissfully blessed with God Save Our Young Blood, which will be appearing on BØRNS’ sophomore album Blue Madonna. Luscious synths and plenty of romantic nostalgia abounds on the song, available, here

BØRNS’ new album Blue Madonna is set to drop on January 12th, pre-order, here.

Love is but one of many nostalgic sadcore treats off of Lana Del Rey’s epic album Lust For Life. DJDS, aka the Los Angeles production duo of Jerome LOL and Samo Sound Boy (also known together as DJ Dodger Stadium) have linked up with Empress Of to cover the song, giving it a more beatific, dance oriented rendering with a spaciously slick, airy light veneer. The mid-tempo electronic affair is a thoroughly charming new approach on Love, and it comes accompanied by a lyric video. DJDS says they wanted to try their own version, so they put their sound in it to pay tribute to the inspiring song.

Lana Del Rey slayed when she sold out the cavernous Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on her Lust For Life tour a few weeks ago. To put it succinctly, Kansas City beats maker VALENTINE and fellow Los Angeles producer Rob Araujo also slay on this dusky glimmering, dreamy warbling, & ethereal skittering remix of Lana’s title track off her chart topping album. It’s a whimsically intricate future beats extravaganza on their re-imagined version of the sultry pop song. Go on a magical and fantastical journey with VALENTINE and Rob Araujo. Their remix is a free download, here.

By now, I’m sure many of you have already taken in Lana Del Rey’s gorgeous new music video which seems to defy time as it pairs vintage aesthetics with futuristic cityscapes. The video is for smoky melancholic White Mustang from her Billboard topping album Lust For Life. There’s a hopeless beauty to the music video that matches the song’s romantic despondency. I caught Lana on her Lust For Life tour recently at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco and I’d never seen the place as packed to the gills as I did that night. Sure, I’ve been to many sold out events there, but the floor was just a carpet of die hard fans who’d arrived hours ahead of time. Lana Del Rey’s set was immaculate, and I couldn’t have been happier to have caught her performance after we’ve staunchly championed her talent and grace since the Video Games and Blue Jeans days.

Earlier today, I gleefully pre-ordered Lana Del Rey’s next album, Lust For Life, which drops on July 21st. It’s been such a journey being a loyal fan of Lizzy Grant and her smoky style of pop since the Video Games and Blue Jeans days. I can’t wait to watch her perform her new music and her older hits at Outside Lands Music Festival next month, too. Lana Del Rey blessed us with two tasty new treats off of Lust For Life today, including a dreamy wistful collaboration with A$AP Rocky named Groupie Love. She also unveiled a melancholic and introspective, choppy and screwy hip hop imbibed track named Summer Bummer featuring Playboi Carti and produced by Boi-1da, which you can stream below.

Los Angeles newcomer Dream Harlowe could very well give Lana Del Rey a run for her money when it comes to bewitching vintage pop noir. Just listen to her sensational debut single Moarte, a truly spellbinding and elegantly captivating affair. Moarte arrives with a ghostly haunting lo-fi music video, too. Moarte is a song I’d love to hear on crackling vinyl. Dream Harlowe explains that she wrote the song after meeting her father in Eastern Europe for the first time. She says: “We are not what we come from and yet, we are.” You can stream or download this exceptional debut via various additional outlets, here.

I know this one’s been going viral and passing around like mad all day long, but I can’t resist tossing it on for a quick share anyway. After all, it’s that Lana Del Rey and The Weeknd collaboration we all been waiting for since we caught wind of the rumored track earlier this year. Lust For Life is the title track from Lana Del Rey’s next album, and as expected, particularly with The Weeknd involved too, it’s a romantic sadcore anthem with lyrics like “only the good die young”. Lust For Life is available for purchase, here.

Lana Del Rey’s Summertime Sadness is probably her catchiest and most infectious song ever. A long list of incredible producers and musicians have remixed and covered the track over the years. While many of them have been high energy bangers, 16 year old incognito producer calfana dreams. goes the dreamy haunting route on his surreal interpretation of the hit. This comes as no surprise considering he first surfaced on our radar last month with an exquisite edit of London Grammar’s Hey Now that was just as ethereal and other worldly as this ambient drifting, languorous flowing gem. Float away into oblivion to calfana dreams. as wave after wave of melancholic nostalgia washed over you. His Summertime Sadness is a free download, here.
