We were thrilled when Dutch producer Bakermat unveiled his explosive house anthem Don’t Want You Back, especially since the frisky jam features ever spectacular Kiesza on spunky vocals. A new remix pack out on Ultra features some fine re-imaginings of the song including this summery edit by Detroit’s Castelle. He turns Don’t Want You Back on its head with a future groovy, chime skipping makeover. It’s cool and breezy, a welcome island escapade we could all use as fall comes knocking at the door. The three track Don’t Want You Back remix pack is available, here.

Prolific Dutch DJ and producer Bakermat is back with a sprightly new single named Don’t Want You Back, and it features one of our favorites on vocals, too! Kiesza brings her ever contagious energy and fire to the track, delivering pristine vocals on Bakermat’s radiant banger. We want both of these artists back, and we’re insanely elated to hear them together on the same track. Don’t Want You Back is an utterly irresistible indie dance flavored piano house charmer. Here’s to hoping that there’s going to be a cool music video down the road featuring Kiesza and her impressive dance skills. Snag this burst of sunshine and joy from major retailers, here.

Honestly, this Friday couldn’t get any better now that I’ve come upon brand new Kiesza. IHM has been a die hard fan of this Canadian talent ever since Hideaway surfaced a few years ago, and I’ve been waiting what feels like an eternity for something new. Kiesza returns with a brisk hooking jam named Dearly Beloved. I’m not going to lie, I already listened to this song at least a dozen times today. Dearly Beloved is a soulful pop and disco dance chimera with funky guitar licks similar to Daft Punk’s Get Lucky. As always, Kiesza’s vocals are tremendous… powerful and full of fire. In Dearly Beloved’s video, she shows us her guitar dexterity. Apparently, she can play the guitar in any position imaginable, but another trait to add to her list of wildly impressive feats. In case you need a refresher, this dancer, multi-instrumentalist, and songstress has been an elite sniper in the Canadian Navy reserves, was once a sailing instructor, ballet dancer, tap dancer, and more. As fun of a song Dearly Beloved is, it’s also full of passion and emotion. In fact, Kiesza says:

When my best friend Alice passed away nearly a year and a half ago, her white electric guitar was passed along to me. In her memory and because I love her so much, I promised myself that I would not let it sit in its case collecting dust. I was going to play the hell out of it, just as she would have done. So that’s what I’m doing. Inspired by her and all of you, I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to start off this new chapter with my new song, Dearly Beloved.

Dearly Beloved can be purchased from major services, here. I’ll be waiting for more of Kiesza’s “new chapter” to unfurl. Eagerly, to say the least.

After all the excitement of Kiesza’s debut album Sound Of A Woman and her wildly impressive artistry, it’s almost felt like something was missing this past while with no daily news about the Canadian artist and no new music to enjoy. Today, that Kiesza hole is filled with a brand new collaboration named Give It To The Moment, featuring producer Djemba Djemba. On this team effort, Kiesza takes on a more ethereal and breathy quality to go along with the frenetically bouncing, energetically charged track, which sounds more like her Take U There collaboration with Skrillex and Diplo than any of the songs off her debut album. Killer drops, slamming beats, and a trappy urgency easily make this a banger.

It’s been ages now since we last heard from the ever incredible Kiesza, and I really hope this means she’s busy in the studio making a spectacular follow up to her Sound Of A Woman. One of the most beautifully gut wrenching ballads off that mostly slamming album is Cut Me Loose, whose melody melts me each and every time I hear it, delivered poignantly by Kiesza’s deeply emotive voice. This incredible remix of Cut Me Loose by Norwegian duo SeeB affords us a magnificent revisit with the heartrender, but in a summery house fashion. SeeB presents a broiling remix with flushed horns that retains the original’s melancholic sentiment but delivered in a nostalgically tropical setting fitting of these endless heat waves we’re experiencing here in San Francisco. Purchase the remix on iTunes.

It’s been nearly half a year since I first discovered New York’s Tribe Society, but the Lokal Legend singed act quickly return to new act to watch status with their soulful electronic pop and R&B song Pain Told Love. For even more bonus points, Pain Told Love features backing vocals by none other than the amazing Kiesza. Backstory in a nutshell, Kiesza and Tribe Society were chilling in an apartment together for a brief moment, and when she hummed along to the melody of Pain Told Love while listening to a demo, it was obvious it was a fit. Their collaborative cooing matches Pain Told Love’s saccharine sentiment and crisp, atmospheric beauty. You’ll likely have to fight an urge to sigh away to this lovely, soul piercing ballad…

So I have a good buddy to thank for bringing this one to light. Get ready to have your mind blown. And before you hit play on the stream above, I highly recommend you watch the live mashup video below instead. Shawn Wasabi is a talented producer. A very talented producer. Hailing from Salinas, he’s swept onto my radar with an incredible, ridiculous, ludicrous mashup. Do you remember Madeon’s Pop Culture? Multiply that ten fold and then swap out those dance tracks with some of today’s most beloved, envelope pushing electronic offerings, and you’ll have Marble Soda. Marble Soda is a bubbly, caffeinated, chiptuned, spirited mix of a jaw dropping amount (153!) of quality songs I love dearly. It’s an exuberant burst of color. Check the list below by hitting the read more button, or head over to to gape at the sheer list of songs represented on Shawn’s mashup. One of my favorite moments on the mashup is the Porter bridge, and it’s endless fun pinpointing all the bits and pieces of songs utilized.

Apparently, I can’t go a day lately without some sort of Jack Ü share. Though Take Ü There, featuring Kiesza, was their debut, and has already seen many makeovers, this new one by Los Angeles based producer AWE had me deeply enthralled by the song yet again. Future bass bursting with fist pumping energy and head tilting swagger has renewed my love of the track. AWE’s trappy remix is a wicked new take on jam. You’ll find it soon on the official Spring Compilation 2015 released by OWSLA.

By now, you probably already heard this new remix, considering how plastered it was all over social media throughout the day. One of the best things (if not the best thing) about this past Super Bowl spectacle was easily the half time guest performance by hip hop legend Missy Elliott, and many on earth agreed at that moment that she still majorly rules. As for the rest of the people who have no idea who Missy is and thought Katy was about to make her a big star, well, uh… no comment. It would seem Missy is making a huge return of sorts, and I can’t help but wonder what else is a-brewing in her camp, but in the meantime, she’s gone ahead and remixed Jack Ü’s Take Ü There, featuring Kiesza. What’s that you say? Skrillex, Diplo, Kiesza, and MISSY ELLIOTT on ONE TRACK? Whoa! Missy even throws down some great versions on the vibrant new remix.

Remixes of Jack Ü’s Take Ü There, featuring Kiesza, just keep rolling in. At this rate, the track’s going to give Galantis’ Runaway (U & I) a run for the money at most remixed track of the moment! OWSLA announced this new version of Skrillex and Diplo’s baby just a short while ago. It’s a slick future bass and trap edition crafted by Australian producer L D R U. For those of you hours ahead of me, let’s raise our fists and pump them wto the filthy beat on the track, to celebrate the coming of the new year. For those in similar time zones, I wish you a safe and festive New Year’s Eve. Thank you for an amazing year of music sharing bliss.
