Just in time for Valentine’s Day this week comes Hangover Love, a luscious new dance pop meets future bass banger from Los Angeles production whiz Kap Slap. Sweet and tart vocals are turned in on the larkish and playful love song by Shaylen. Together, Kap Slap and Shaylen have been working on Hangover Love for a long time, so we’re blessed to finally get to hear this aureate smoldering, mellifluous thrumming ode to youthful and reckless love. Now that we have our soundtrack to Valentine’s Day, get out there and find your own hangover love. You can find the single on iTunes, here.

Los Angeles producer Kap Slap placed his compassionate soul on display and exhibited much gallantry and chivalry when he headlined an event in Los Angeles earlier this month to raise funds for the charity F*Cancer, which provides prevention, early detection, and support to those affected by cancer. He also released a weightless and airy new song named If We Were Alone. A sprightly sea of choppy electro pop and future pop is greeted by honeyed vocals by a mysterious vocalist on the bright sugary, contagiously spry treat. Kap Slap says he had a lot of fun putting the song together, though it’s been in the works for quite some time. Catch Kap Slap on tour the rest of the year, details can be found, here. Purchase/stream If We Were Alone, here.

Closing Time, the biggest hit from Minneapolis rockers Semisonic during their late 90′s heydays, was one of my favorite tracks from that time period. It’s so catchy and dour, a tragic anthem for a lost generation who has no where to go and no one to take them home. Los Angeles based producer Kap Slap must love the song, too. He takes me back in time with a fresh and modern cover remix of the classic song, featuring Eliason on vocals. Kap Slap says: “Nothing will ever match the original but I hope you guys can vibe with our take on this Semisonic classic!” Vibing we are, as we dance to the bouncy buoyant, brisk summery re-imagining of the song. Kap Slap’s version of Closing Time is a free download, here.

For our final course of the evening, we leave room for the best kind of dessert, a well put together mashup by LA’s gifted production talent, Kap Slap. Heathen Thieves Love Lamborghini’s is three minutes fifty two seconds of creative brilliance. Kap Slap seamlessly blends some of the year’s biggest hits from artists like Twenty One Pilots, Martin Garrix, Rick Ross, Bebe Rexha, Grandtheft, Skrillex, Troyboi, Ookay, JayKode, and Party Thieves for a dirty trap-tacular end of year soiree. Bump this one loud as we count down the final days of 2016. The whomping mashup can be downloaded, here.

Los Angeles based DJ and producer Kap Slap is in the thick of his newly embarked Harbor tour, with 25 dates across the US lasting til the end of October. The massive pilgrimage takes inspiration for its name from Kap Slap’s new single, a saccharine vivacious dance pop ballad featuring melting vocals by Jake Etheridge. “So I sail away” sings Jake on the blithe breezy feel good summer anthem. I’ll sail away with Kap Slap any day and feel like “I belong” when he serenades me with such radiantly beautiful electronic music. Harbor is out now on Ultra. Purchase from iTunes.

Los Angeles production whiz Kap Slap dropped a melty sweet, electro pulsing dance track earlier this year named Felt This Good, featuring M. Bronx. On a brand new VIP edit, the producer himself gives us an alternate approach to the hit track. Kap Slap goes future bass and chill trap on his recent remix. The edit’s feathery plush, fleecy light atmosphere seems to accent the melancholic tenderness of M. Bronx’s vocals even more. Kap Slap has thawed out the original’s electrifying heat and inundates us with a molten pool of heart rending feels.

East Coast duo Shades’ remix of Kap Slap’s Felt This Good, featuring M. Bronx, is certainly worthy of some cool shades. They turn the SoCal producer’s original into a cool refreshing future pop jam. It’s a chill uplifting, sunset ready summer beauty much fitting of the song’s lyrics. The remix is like a soft caressing ocean breeze. Palm trees line the distance and we stare off into the horizon alongside Shades, lost in the heavenly vibes of their crafty edit. Shades’ remix is a contender in a contest on Wavo. Kap Slap may be busy on tour through the end of May (tour info, here), but the producer from Southern California has taken the time to craft a mighty fine, very sophisticated mashup. Taylor Needs Calvin’s Rozes & Love is what you might call tongue in cheek, considering its playful reference to Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris’ romance. All jesting aside, Kap Slap has put together one blissed out future beats cocktail made up of Calvin Harris’ I Need Your Love, Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud, Manila Killa’s All That’s Left, The Chainsmokers’  Roses, and Taylor Swift’s Wildest Dreams, among possibly more snippets of top hits. Many of happen to be on my favorites list, so I’m quite happy with hearing them all mashed together into one ebulliently springy treat.  Download Taylor Needs Calvin’s Rozes & Love for free, here.
