Australian producer Just A Gent is up to his Just A Tune tricks again, delivering unexpected flips and surprises that leave our jaws agape with astonishment and our hearts aflutter with intense euphoria. Just A Gent turns in a hard hitting, heavy thrashing banger of a remix in the form of his interpretation of Rage Against The Machine classic Killing in the Name. The beast of a dubstep and bass thriller is scratchy raw, just as it should be, and thorny jabbing. All you’ll want to do once you dive into this one is RAGE. Fortunately for us all, the weekend has begun, and we have plenty of time to rage and rage and rage again to Just A Gent’s Just A Tune flip. Download the ferocious track, here.

We’ve been enjoying some sweet remixes and flips from Just A Gent, sometimes under his Just A Tune moniker, but how about a fresh new original from the amazing Australian producer? Just A Gent teams up with fellow Australian electronic duo MOZA on emotionally charged future bass opus You’ll Never Know, and what a moody brooding banger it is! It almost feels like Jack Garratt gone tense electrifying, tumultuously thrilling trap and bass on us. Snag the explosive jam from iTunes, here. MOZA will be joining Just A Gent when he goes on tour this summer in Australia in support of the massive new single. Find out more at his website, here.

Australian producer Just A Gent is well known for his ace remixing skills. The future bass guru dropped a phenomenal re-work of Post Malone’s Congratulations yesterday under his Just A Tune moniker, and it’s an absolute banger. His Congratulations is a shivering, quivering, skin-tingling wall of deliriously flickering chill trap, or “trill trap” as he calls it, yet it all flows so smoothly. That is, until you get to the final gritty jouncing minute, a moment of pure exhilaration. Download the track for free, here.

This next one succinctly summarizes why Just A Gent is one of my favorite future bass and chill trap producers in the world. Not only has the Australian producer re-worked one of the best debuts of the year, namely Los Angeles newcomer Ella Vos’ exquisite pop ballad White Noise, but his official remodeling of the track gives us one of the best remixes of the year, too. Goosebumps rise on my skin as Ella Vos’ voice glides ethereally through the remix’s tender sparse beginnings. After plucky heartfelt strings echo through that spaciousness, the true cinematic core of the track kicks in. From there on out, we’re treated to a fluctuating dichotomy of majestic grandeur and gentle effervescence. It’s a breathtaking exchange, and a tremendously beautiful one, at that. We return at the end from a truly cathartic voyage through the cosmos.

Twenty One Pilots’ contribution to the Suicide Squad soundtrack, Heathens, has become one of the biggest hits of the year. It’s also grown to be the most remixed Twenty One Pilots track so far. One such flip you really don’t want to miss is Australian electronic whiz Just A Gent’s grandly cinematic, glitchy mesmeric edit. Retro pulsing synths join future bass swells on this uniquely entrancing, darkly meditative remix. The track is a free download, here.

Though we’ve enjoyed some magnificent Just A Gent remixes in the past few months, there’s nothing like a Just A Gent original to pleasure the ears. The long time IHM praised Australian producer drops a monumental one too, in the form of Rolling Dice, featuring captivating vocals by Ella Vos and Joey Chavez. Rolling Dice is a lavish brooding masterpiece, a resonating “lovetrap” opus from Just A Gent’s soon to be released new EP, Stories To Tell. The producer offers up a cavernous expanse of hypnotic thrilling bass and bombastic trap, culminating in a powerfully cathartic, epic cinematic experience. Pre-order Just A Gent’s sure to be monumental Stories To Tell EP ahead of its release on August 26th from various outlets, here.

Just A Tune, the alter ego of Australian producer Just A Gent, puts out some mighty fine flips and re-works under this more enigmatic name. The latest track to come from this side project of sorts, if it’s even considered one, is a new approach on Canadian artist Vincent’s gorgeous regal, magical enchanting trap and future bass song Her. Apparently, I’m not the only one who fell hard for this magical song. Just A Tune calls the original a “masterpiece”. He goes on to give the tune a tweak that doesn’t stray far from said original, but is extra spacey and more entrancing chill. Her takes on a warm dreaminess compared to the colder, darker original. Just A Gent even uses some murky marimbas to soften out the edges. This gorgeous re-imagining is a free download, here.

You’ve probably heard this little ditty lighting it up this past week named This Is What You Came For, by two massive superstars in the music scene. Australian producer Just A Gent has given the track the royal remix treatment, and the resulting weighty jam is straight fire. Everybody’s Watching Her goes chill trap intoxicating. Just A Gent takes the song down a notch with a slower tempo and much downtempo timbre, but there’s no lack of emotive intensity to the gorgeous remix. The Soundcloud version of the flip is actually a slowed down version. You can download the original edit from Toneden.

Just A Gent’s Heavy As A Heartbreak, featuring Lanks, is such a spectacular song, we’ve heard an abundance of remixes of the track already. But I promise that you’ll want to set aside some time to check out this new one by California’s Xan Griffin. The producer’s rendition of Heavy As A Heartbreak starts out light and airy, as if propelling us into a world of bright and hopeful fantasy quite disparate from the very heartache Just A Gent addresses on the original. The track slowly builds upon itself before erupting with dubstep and melodic bass power, but there’s still a wistful weightlessness to this version of the song that, though emotionally charged, gives off an uplifting and optimistic radiance. Xan Griffin’s official remix is majestic and grand, an ILLENIUM and Adventure Club evoking spectacular. It’s also free to download, here.
