It felt like forever ago when we first fell in love with Joywaves’ Tongues, which featured dance/electro project KOPPS as a guest. I think we’ll forever be addicted to that incredibly infectious, vivacious bopping jam. Today, we’re ecstatic that the two projects have reunited on a fresh new jam. KOPPS douses us with some incendiary alt electro and corrosive dance rock on appropriately named Hott, and the track features fellow New Yorkers Joywave as the guest this time around. It’s a slinky, steamy affair and another stellar offering from this team of inventive musicians. Snag the blazing tune from iTunes, here.

We’re counting down the days till July 28th, when Joywave will be releasing their sophomore album Content. In the meantime, we’ve been hooked on the music they’ve unveiled off the record these past months, including dark heady Content and groovy sleek It’s A Trip. It’s obvious the Rochester five piece has quite a versatile and compelling album readied for our listening pleasure. Today, Joywave unleashed Going to a Place, a slinky prowling, kaleidoscopic spiraling epic that undergoes a paradigm shift of sorts about halfway through. From crashing, clamorous intensity Going to a Place drops into a dreamy meditative pace. It’s quite the fascinating listen and it sure takes us to many places. Joywave will be touring with Young The Giant and Cold War Kids in August and September. Find out more about the tour, here. New album Content can be pre-ordered, here.

We have just a little over a month to go before Joywave’s sophomore album Content arrives. I know some of you are on the edge of your seats with excitement, especially after the Rochester five piece has given us treats like Shutdown, It’s A Trip!, and the title track to whet our appetites. No doubt you’re only going to long for Content even more after you’ve heard new song Doubt, a dark brooding, raw festering alt/electro rock piece centered on a more aggressive and gloomier side of Joywave. New album Content arrives on July 28th.

It’s almost exactly a year since I caught Joywave at Live 105′s BFD last year, but that set is still fresh on my mind. The Rochester five piece slayed the Subsonic Tent with a highly energetic performance that involved a lot of crowd participation and some slick dance moves. It seems fitting that we now get to listen to a brand new track from the band. Shutdown is a lush whirring alt taste from the band’s sophomore album, Content, expected to arrive July 28th. As they’ve done quite often in the past, Joywave’s sleek vocals and dancey jam evokes Hot Chip, with an abundance more rock heat. This new song is also adorned with a lush soaring splendor that reminds me of M83. Shutdown is out now on iTunes, here.

I know this sounds cheesy, but a wave of joy really does wash over me when new Joywave surfaces. The Rochester five piece are back with a groovy cut named It’s A Trip and news of a sophomore album named Content, to be released on July 28th. It’s A Trip is a sleek chugging alt anthem that reminds me of their early collaboration with Big Data with some of the garage blues of The Black Keys and a flux of Portugal. the Man’s kaleidoscopic funk. Its cocksure prance and sly slickness are more than contagious. Alongside title track Content which was revealed a week ago, Joywave’s new album is already sounding mighty fine. Joywave will be embarking on tour with Cold War Kids and Young The Giant this August. Re-visit delicious dark electro thrasher Content below, which I seriously can’t get enough of.
