Kygo continues to provide us with uplifting anthems and feel good pop and dance hybrids as he reveals yet another magnificent collaboration. This time around, UK vocal powerhouse John Newman has lent his voice to Kygo’s Never Let You Go, giving it a soulful boost to go along with its tropical house and folk house vibrancy. Never Let You Go is a glowing, comforting breath of sunshine and exultant joy. Kygo’s new album Kids In Love, which drops on November 3rd, is shaping up to be quite the autumnal delight.

It was but a couple days ago that IHM shared a summer radiant remix of a Tough Love song. Today we turn the tables as we dive into a song remixed by the British duo. Star studded Sigala smash Give Me Your Love, featuring soulful crooner John Newman and guitar funk genius Nile Rodgers, goes searing hot deep future in the hands of Tough Love. It may only been lunch time on a Friday, but this wildly vigorous banger will no doubt get your weekend dance party started, right now. I’m sure your office co-workers won’t mind a little Friday fun.

Earlier this week, John Newman showed off his spectacular vocal chops again on new single Come And Get It, another ace soul pop song from the British artist. Sweden’s Tobtok transforms Come And Get It into a summer dance anthem on a new official remix. This one will undoubtedly lift spirits and move bodies with its radiant sheen and tropical atmosphere, like a Goldroom meets Oliver Nelson monster jam. The remix is available to pre-order on iTunes. Soon enough, Tobtok will be thrilling our ears again with a hot collaboration and a new original.

OFFICIAL VID: John Newman – Come And Get It

There are few soulful voices as powerful as John Newman’s, and it’s quite the treat when the English artist drops a new single. Lest you forgot, John Newman first blew us away with his fantastic voice on Rudimental hits Feel The Love and Not Giving In before he dropped his 2013 debut album Tribute, an album that was far overlooked and underrated here on this side of the pond. I had the pleasure of catching John in a small club for Popscene and he was incredible on stage. John then followed that up with smash hit Blame with Calvin Harris, so really, he’s quite responsible for some magnificent tunes these past couple of years. New single Come And Get It, out July 18th on Island Records, storms right back with plenty of John Newman’s signature, exhilarating soul pop. With the soaring new single and its video comes the news that a sophomore album is on its way!

Unsurprisingly, UK soul-pop crooner John Newman is invading stateside after ruling the charts back home for quite some time. His debut album Tribute is a powerful listen. The music on it doesn’t lie far removed from the tremendous tracks he collaborated on with Rudimental that first launched him into the scene. He’s about to return to San Francisco for another sold out show, but I had the luck to catch him in a smaller venue, at Popscene, just a few weeks ago. Newman’s performance was spectacular, to say the least. That voice of his is just incredible. One of my favorite tracks off Tribute is Out Of My Head, though it sits up there with so many of the other album tracks. Watch his new video for the soulful, emotional, slow burning track below.

John Newman – Losing Sleep (TÂCHES Remix)

December 14, 2013

I was addicted for a good while to English artist John Newman’s debut album Tribute. I knew it was going to be an intense, immense listen from start to finish, and I was right on the money. John Newman first shot to fame getting featured on Rudimental’s hit tunes. His powerful vocals are insanely good. When he went solo, I knew he was going to be huge. Tribute was a #1 album back in the UK where he’s already quite the star, and I can’t wait to see him live come January in San Francisco. Those that love the punch and potency of Rudimental’s music would greatly enjoy Newman’s solo work filled with popping soul and breakbeat. Losing Sleep is one of the best tracks off Tribute, and those that might crave more bass when paired with John Newman’s vocals can listen to this new TÂCHE remix of the track. The producer from London gives the track a house makeover. Stream it below, courtesy of SubSoul’s YouTube channel.

Kat Krazy remix of John Newman’s Losing You

November 30, 2013

A few days ago, I was finally able to find time to rotate in UK soul pop artist John Newman’s debut album Tribute into my CD rotation. By the time I was three songs in, I was texting my friend, advising her to listen to the release ASAP. She loves Rudimental, and John Newman’s solo work is a extension of some of the same powerful sound, but minus the drum and bass. For those that still don’t place the name, John Newman was the one who lent those incredible vocals on Rudimental hits Not Giving In and Feel The Love, some of the  early tunes that helped propel Rudimental to immense success. Newman has already achieved great heights of his own and topped charts back at home in the UK already, as predicted. His latest single is Losing you, which is definitely one of my faves off Tribute. For those that miss some heavier bass on his tracks (and his tracks are filled with LOUD percussion, vocals, and horns already), stream the new Kat Krazy electronic remix below. Then watch the video for the original track. And let it lift you up with its explosiveness. John Newman is another act I can’t wait to catch live within the next month or two. What a jawdropping voice. It’s going to be even more mind blowing live. Yea, buddy!
