You know we’re in for a mighty fine treat when a remix of Flight Facilities by Joe Goddard crops up. The gifted producer and beloved member of Hot Chip and The 2 Bears has given Flight Facilities long awaited recent single Arty Boy an swirly entrancing deep disco house re-fix that leaves us with a strong urge to hit the dance floors with our very best dance moves on this fine Friday night. Joe Goddard’s remix is dark and visceral, yet glamorous and flashy. Flight Facilities explains: “Joe has always been an inspiration of ours, whether it’s as himself, 2 Bears or Hot Chip. We’re over the moon to have his interpretation of Arty Boy out in the world: Out now: futr.cl/joegoddard/.”

Last month, Hercules & The Love Affair united with Sharon Van Etten on an amazing new single named Omnion, the title track from the NYC dance outfit’s forthcoming new album, and it utterly transfixed us with its transcendental experimental electronica. You can listen to the beautifully haunting single, here. Now, the great Joe Goddard (of Hot Chip and The 2 Bears, too, of course) has given the track a wicked remix treatment. It’s a profoundly sprawling and brilliantly masterful renovation that I can’t get enough of, even at eight minutes long. The remix comes as part of the official Omnion Remixes package, available, here.

Joe Goddard, the esteemed artist well known for his roles in both Hot Chip and The 2 Bears, put forth a solo album earlier this year named Electric Lines. Album gem Ordinary Madness has received a ravishing remix by none other than ever brilliantly versatile and prolific producer RAC. This earthy strumming, halcyon sailing edit is a warm comfort of an indie dance & chill house swayer. RAC says of his breezy lush edit: “I’ve been a fan of Joe’s and Hot Chip for so long that it was truly an honor to work on his material. I tried to take the song in a more mellow direction. I wanted her vocals to be up close and intimate, as if singing in your ear. I even used my childhood guitar, which has a worn-in quality to it. I hope you like it.” You can purchase the remix from major retailers, here.

This next one may not be a new Hot Chip song (which I’m sure would set off quite the frenzy if it were), but it involves two members of Hot Chip anyway, so I’m sure it’s creating quite astir regardless, especially since it’s such a rad dance pop tune from Joe Goddard featuring Alexis Taylor. Electric Lines is the title track from the prolific producer’s new solo album, out tomorrow. It’s sparse and limber, with spacious blips and gentle claps. Within its wistful core wafts Alexis Taylor’s ever entrancing, waxy smooth voice. In some ways, Electric Lines almost feels like a Postal Service tune, with more vast and expansive electronica in its depths. The song first premiered today via Joe Goddard’s uniquely immersive site, created by Domino Recording Co and Joe himself. The site aims to share Joe Goddard’s stories directly with fans prior to Electric Lines’ release. Visit that site, here. Pre-order Joe Goddard’s new album before it drops tomorrow, here. You can also stream the title track via YouTube below, too.

There’s no denying the infectiousness of Katy Perry’s new Skip Marley featuring hit Chained To The Rhythm, plus it marks a fresh and intriguing departure in sound for the artist with very humble roots. I for one can’t help but love Chained To The Rhythm’s funky hook and pertinent message. And now, I can’t resist this dashing new remix of the track by none other than well loved British outfit Hot Chip. They give the track a choppy house workover that will keep you moving all night long, chained forevermore to its rhythm. You can also stream the remix off of Soundcloud, below.

Brilliant musician Joe Goddard of Hot Chip and The 2 Bears fame is finally releasing a solo album this April, and Electric Lines’ lead single full on spectacular. Music Is The Answer, which arrives with a futuristic entrancing video, is a dark pulsing, cinematic veering ambler. The abyssal depth of this throbbing piece recalls some of my favorite Tourist songs paired with the rich clattering soundscape of Jamie xx. Electric Lines will be arriving on April 21st. You can order the debut solo album on limited edition deluxe vinyl LP & CD, here, or download digitally, here.

As if Someone That Loves You isn’t already the most heavenly British collaboration between electro R&B swooners HONNE and singer songwriter Izzy Bizu, that velveteen track has now been remixed by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard! Float on puffs of fleecy clouds as Someone That Loves You gets transformed into a gentle pulsing, cool pumping dance jam under Joe Goddard’s deft hands.
The original’s warm fuzzy vibes are much retained on this phenomenal remix.
It’s an entrancingly beautiful affair.

Thanks to a sick remix by Joe Goddard, I’ve discovered a fantastic five piece from London named Nimmo And The Gauntletts. You can find the outstanding, electric club remix of Others below, but please, don’t pass up on checking out the original above. It’s a deliciously warm and sweeping listen that right away reminded me of London Grammar and Arthur Beatrice with its dramatic indie rock sound, paired with blissful, angelic vocals. Others is the title track off Nimmo And The Guantletts’ forthcoming EP, out July 14 on the legendary Kitsuné. Nimmo And The Gauntletts also released an excellent single back in March titled Jaded, a darker electropop track. Check it out below the Joe Goddard remix.
