Control carries the hallmarks of both these esteemed acts in its suave, slinky swagger and its glitzy swinging future funk vibes. The single is part of a series of collaborations this year that Lemaitre is in the midst of releasing involving other Norwegian luminaries like Coucheron, William Larsen, and Bearson. Norwegian wunderkind Jerry Folk has been proving himself a production chameleon lately with his flips. He takes on Post Malone for his latest track, demonstrating how much of a ‘rocksta’r he really is. Post Malone’s Rockstar gets a funky yet gritty re-working that brings to mind Pretty Lights. He even enlisted his buddy Heavy Mellow on wicked funk guitar. Download the track for free, here. If you missed Jerry Folk’s take on Justin Bieber’s Boyfriend, be sure to check it out, here.

“I can take you places you ain’t never been before,” sings the Biebs on his unforgettable hit single Boyfriend. It seems a rather appropriate line for a new track from Jerry Folk, the Norwegian beatmaster and songcrafter who always takes us to places we’ve never been with his spiffy tunes. He’s given Boyfriend a spicy flickering, steamy jabbing future beats re-work with tender swooning, guitar strumming moments and face melting trap drops. It’s a total re-imagination of the song, and it’s brilliant. Download his Boyfriend flip for free, here.

I know this one’s been hopping around on everyone’s prized playlists for awhile now, but we simply can’t let such a superb Jerry Folk remix slide. The Norwegian virtuoso has given fellow countrymen Lemaitre a regal future trap lift on his remix of Higher, featuring candied vocalist Maty Noyes. Despite its lofty lurches and rich swells, Jerry Folk’s Higher reaches its high with an astounding smoothness and with much stylish pizzazz through its abundant trickling of future funk. His official remix is out on iTunes, here.

Like a painted glass window, Purple Feelings’ magnificent shards cast a prism of light on us in its opening bars, before the heat of the sun passing through its panes magnifies to electrifying effect. Purple Feelings is Norwegian production whiz Jerry Folk’s latest scintillating single, and it features Los Angeles’ Rainsford. It’s a swift curving, elegant curling ride, a future beats dazzler brimming with a myriad of feels and emotions. Its soulful glitch hop even evokes Pretty Lights, but blended ever so seamlessly with that contemporary future pop sound of the moment. Purple Feelings is out now via iTunes.

Young Los Angeles talent Billie Eilish cast a spell upon the world with songs like Ocean Eyes and Six Feet Under earlier this year, quickly springing up to be one of the most beloved watched pop starlets of the moment. As a result, many brilliant producers have expressed their love of her music through various interpretations of said songs. There are perhaps none as more intriguing and unique to date as Jerry Folk’s remix of Six Feet Under. The Norwegian producer gives the melancholic ballad a ghostly echoing, synth oscillating downtempo edit, one I find darkly gripping and beautifully breathtaking. Jerry Folk’s remix of Six Feet Under is his first in awhile after having focused on his stunning originals this past year, but what a way to make a return to the editing spectrum this is.
