It really doesn’t get much better than Me & You ◑. I mean, seriously…. HONNE and Tom Misch, on one song together? I think my life is fulfilled now that the two UK projects have united to give us a delectably grooving swathe of velveteen electro-soul and jazzy strings. We celebrated when HONNE returned last month with two new tunes after spending much of the past couple of years working quietly on their next album. And now, this?! My heart can’t take it! HONNE even offers up a fabulous music video to go with the song, featuring a dance troupe in what looks to be South Korea. Dashing Tom Misch turns in molten guitars on the uptempo swooner. HONNE’s next album Love Me/ Love Me Not will be out sometime this summer. Our eyes are peeled for a release date and pre-order details.

Me & You ◑ is available, here.

We’ve been touting Portugal. the Man’s Feel It Still as one of the best tracks of the year, so it’s been very vindicating to watch my favorite American psych rock band get nominated for a Grammy for the funky swaggering jam, which has now become the most ubiquitous and omnipresent hit of 2017. Over the course of the past several months, an insane amount of ridiculously good remixes of Feel It Still have surfaced in the music scene. But there’s always room for one more brilliant rendition, particularly when its this edit by NYC’s Jenaux. Feel It Still gets some chill dreamy feels on the languorous future funk re-work. It’s a brassy playful, jazzy chic romp with smooth glossy corners and luscious synths. Grab it for free, here.

I’m sure many of you have already picked up on the new Tom Misch by now, as well as the announcement of his debut full length and an accompanying tour. And I’m sure you’re celebrating all the fine news alongside the London musician’s devout bounty of fans. I still remember Tom Misch’s San Francisco sold out debut at Popscene last November like it was but a few days ago. Tom’s North American leg of his tour begins at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco on April 12th, and I certainly plan on being there for the show, though grabbing a ticket before the show sells out might be an uphill battle. Debut album Geography drops on April 6th. For more details regarding his tour and album, head to his website, here. But for now, let’s dive into Movie, which features Tom’s own sister Polly on vocals at the start of the song, as well as Tom’s mom Carol in the single’s artwork. Movie ‘magic’ can’t begin to describe this mellow melter. It’s a signature jazzy soul and gem from Tom Misch, with funk guitars, endless vintage vibes, and his velveteen voice. I melt into the song, and sigh the longest sigh that ever was….

Lost I am, in the husky soulful vocals of MADDEE and the simmering late night vibes found on her new single. It seems to be MADDEE’s first appearance since she teamed up with Canadian producer Harrison on a couple of his singles a year ago. Lost is a jazzy, snazzy twilight R&B soul serenade dripping in classy sophistication. It’s like a more laid back and mellow Flight Facilities meets TOKiMONSTA chimera, crossed with the elegance of Jessie Ware, the chicness of Tom Misch, and the soulfulness of Yuna. The bewitching beauty is out on Beatnik Creative.

I still remember clear as day the moment when Tom Misch premiered this song live for the very first time at a super sold out Popscene last November. Rickshaw Stop was packed to the gills with adoring fans who just couldn’t get enough of the Londoner’s jazzy grooving R&B funk tunes, and we were all blown away by South Of The River’s seductive bass line, frisky strings, and Tom’s creamy cooing. The singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist has finally dropped South Of The River as his latest single, and now you can all partake in its swooning allure, too, complete with feisty violin by Tobie Tripp and a dazzling keys solo by Rob Araujo. Snag the single from major retailers, here.

Back to the City Of Lights we go as yet another gifted French producer brings us all the feels on a dusky chic original named Neon Girl featuring singer songwriter and fellow Parisian Ernest Mori. Bazane’s presents us with a wonky chill emulsion constructed out of the chic elegance of French electro and the coruscant glamor of nu-disco. It’s almost as if Metronomy has gone jazzy electro funk on us. We feel like we’re in Paris right now as we shuffle and sway to this resplendent confection. For more of Bazane’s sonic wizardry, a visit with his remix of Flume’s Never Be Like You is a must. Stream that luscious grooving treat below. You can also find an alternate stream of Neon Girl via Soundcloud there, too. Neon Girl can be purchased from Bandcamp.

The pull of gravity truly seems to fade as a spacious buoyancy defies all laws of physics on Empty Hole, the latest from Philadelphia sonic auteur, Moon Bounce. The producer and songwriter tags Empty Hole as “mutant pop”. There’s certainly a wonkiness and a dissonance to be found on this dreamy squiggling, cosmic wriggling fusion of psych pop and electro R&B. Empty Hole is pure heady intoxication and a smooth funk suitor. It’s the second single lifted from Moon Bounce’s forthcoming Clean House LP, out March 10th on Grind Select.  Purchase the single or pre-order the album from Bandcamp.

I’m burning up to Burn It Up, HIGH HØØPS’ smooth and creamy new jam. Buttery vibes ooze endlessly from the fuzzy warm display of sonic resplendence. The New Zealander, also known for his role in IHM praised indie collective LEISURE, coos dreamily in a bed of snazzy, woolly disco psychedelics. As much as we’re a fan of LEISURE and can’t stop sharing their tunes, I’m more than glad that HIGH HØØPS is doing his own R&B funk thing, too. I’ll be waiting for more of his velveteen goodness going forth. You can purchase Burn It Up now from iTunes.

There’s something about The Landing’s smooth funky music that makes me believe, just for a moment, that I’m cool. I want to throw on a pair of shades and glide my way across the room while snapping my fingers to his latest astral shimmering jam, Stars In Motion. The New York based artist, who tagged his tune as “space pop”, certainly give off plenty of spacey disco vibes on the swanky sleek and dreamy plush groover. The velveteen swooner is out now on iTunes.
