Both Marble Empire and Katya DJ are fresh on our radar, but they sure make sweet sound together on Head Above The Water. Marble Empire is a British producer and multi-instrumentalist who specializes in 2-step and jazzy bass lines. He melds his electro-soulful sonic skills with Katya DJ’s fierce and smoldering voice on the swanky sublime jam, which also features some blazing Tom Misch-like guitar riffs. You’ll be hard pressed not to nod along and tap your feet to this rhythmic smoldering dazzler. No lie, I’m grooving out in my chair right now as I type this. I’m sure we all remember Kisses, the Los Angeles based indie band who last put out a full length a year ago named Rest In Paradise. So, what have they been up to since? Well, I don’t know about the rest of the band, but Jesse Kivel has embarked on a new solo adventure under his given name. On October 6th, he’ll be releasing his debut EP, Content, a five track release that will be out on his own label New feelings (US) & Rallye (Japan). The announcement arrives with lead single LA Story, a sleek dreamy, chiffon wafting, and cool languid groover with plenty of snazzy brass and svelte cooing. Its jazzy R&B and chill disco almost feels like Damon Albarn gone Electric Guest, Washed Out, and Toro Y Moi, with a hefty helping of Bossa nova breeziness. Pre-order Jesse Kivel’s debut EP, here.

German producer and artist Moglii describes his music as “organic electronic”. New song Girl is certainly an intricately shifting, dynamic warbling display of production prowess. Joining him on the single is creamy crooner and fellow Germany resident Ben Werchohlad. Girl wobbles seductively, a late night suitor whose dreamy atmospheric ambiance gently squeezes the heart while raising goosebumps on the skin. James Vincent McMorrow meets Nick Murphy (fka Chet Faker) on the future soul confection. The song, released by Majestic Casual, can also be streamed on Spotify.
