Those Jaymes Young treats just keep on flowing plentifully these days as we build towards the release of the singer songwriter’s debut album tomorrow. The Los Angeles based Seattleite melts us to no end with his velveteen voice and on bittersweet hymnal Tied Down, a dynamic spectacular that breaks into dark cutting beats and a bold stuttering electronic march a minute in. If anyone’s been tied down, it’s been my heart, by Jaymes Young’s music all this time. There’s no release in sight, either, as Feel Something inches towards us by the minute. You can pre-order the album from Atlantic, here. I’ve “tied down” my copy ages ago.

I’m really looking forward to July 13th, because on that night, Jaymes Young is going to make the whole entire room at Popscene in San Francisco swoon with his heartrending music. The Los Angeles by way of Seattle singer songwriter leaves us reeling right now with a new cut off his debut album. Stone is just as moving of a ballad than Jaymes Young’s prior offerings. It feels as if he’s wearing his own heart on the sleeve when he belts us these moving tunes. Stone is like a shoulder to lean on. It’s sad, yet comforting. Debut album Feel Something arrives on June 23rd. Pre-order from Atlantic, here.

There are plenty of shows I’m greatly looking forward to this summer, but at the tippy top of my list is Jaymes Young’s stop in San Francisco at Popscene on July 13th. We’re no strangers to how sweetly melting his music can be, but the Los Angeles based, Seattle born singer songwriter brings us a more gritty pumping, grimy glitching form of his alt R&B/soul and electronic pop on Don’t You Know, and it’s this bigger, bolder sound is just as swooning an affair. Don’t You Know, which drips with restless infatuation and agitated desire, was written on a sleepless hot summer night. Jaymes says: “I think a little bit of my sweat ended up in the song.” Don’t You Know is the latest taste from Jaymes Young’s highly anticipated debut album, Feel Something, out everywhere on Friday, June 23rd via Please Rewind / Atlantic. Pre-order links can be found, here.

Today is a very good day for a Jaymes Young fan like me. Not only did the morning kick off with great news regarding a new tour, one that will bring the creamy voiced singer songwriter to Popscene in San Francisco on July 13th, but he’s unveiled yet another sensational treat from his forthcoming debut album. I’m still obsessing over last single Stoned On You yet I must make swift way for heartstring tugging, rich stirring title track Feel Something. We feel more than just “something” as the fast rising Los Angeles artist presents us with a lavish rousing form of R&B inflected, satin swelling, & synth surging alt pop. Feel Something’s cathartic effect is all consuming. No doubt his debut album is going to be a tour de force experience. You can pre-order the album on iTunes ahead of its June 23rd release, here. In case you forgot how insanely good Stoned On You is (or just want to re-visit it like I do), stream below.

Creamy voiced swooner Jaymes Young all but disappeared this past year, and we’ve been hungering for his sweet melting music all this time. The Los Angeles based singer songwriter has finally returned. In tow is this alt R&B flavored single Stoned On You and delectable news of a debut album. Jaymes’ style of alt pop has always felt like a less gloomy Fyfe gone sweetly Mikky Ekko. On his new single, he sings of over indulgence and new love. We’re down to over indulge in Jaymes Young any day. The gifted artist wrote and self-produced Stoned On You. The single is out now on iTunes. Jaymes Young’s debut album Feel Something will arrive on June 23rd.
