What do you get when you pool together the talents of NYC’s Party Thieves and Los Angeles’ JayKode, then top it all off with vocals from “gypsy pop” singer songwriter Neon Hitch? An orchestral, bi-coastal theatrical experience like Poppy Seeds full of fire, spice, and thrills, that’s what! The trap and dubstep beast of a jam plays on the fact that poppies are beautiful, yet their seeds make the highest form of heroin. As the producers have explained: “Love is also beautiful and one’s love can feel like the highest form of drug. When addicted to harmful love, like any addiction, it can be life threatening. This song is like a poppy worn on Remembrance Day, for the times we had.” I, for one, am thoroughly addicted to this craggy fortress of a dramatic and intense electronic opus. Good thing it’s not life threatening, like love and heroin can be. I just need to watch where I’m going while violently launching myself all over the room to the shuddering lurches on the behemoth track. Grab the gut wrenching, tense riveting spectacular from iTunes, here.

It’s a grand scale bi-coastal affair when Miami’s Lookas and Los Angeles’ JayKode unite on an SHM remix. And by grand, I mean monumental. Swedish House Mafia’s Leave The World Behind, featuring Deborah Cox, goes cosmic trap on their beast of an edit. Whether SHM is reuniting and making a heralded return or not doesn’t really matter for at least four minutes forty eight seconds, thanks to JayKode and Lookas stunning behemoth of a taut thrilling remix. Adrenaline rushes through my veins as I find myself glued to this exhilarating and entrancing edit. I’ve left the world, far far below. Download the majestic re-work for free from Toneden.
