OFFICIAL VID: Jack White – Sixteen Saltines

April 5, 2012

Jack White’s latest acclaimed single Sixteen Saltines now has a very interesting accompanying video. He’s barely in it himself and the video takes place in a world overrun by teenagers and kids. Is that anarchy?

Sixteen Saltines

March 13, 2012

Jack White played this song on Saturday Night Live the other evening, but here’s a high quality preview of bluesy Sixteen Saltines which will be on his highly anticipated solo album Blunderbuss. It’s a great, rocking piece. I expect the Jack White noise and buzz to become even more hyperactive as we approach the release of Blunderbuss on April 24. Sounding great, Mr. White!

OFFICIAL VID: Jack White – Love Interruption

February 14, 2012

The first single off Jack White’s upcoming solo album Blunderbuss is a great one, promising good things to come. The audio for Love Interruption was previewed awhile back, but today, on Valentine’s Day, Jack White gives us the video for the bluesy folk rock track. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Sasquatch at the Gorge 2012

February 3, 2012

Memorial Day weekend 2012 lineup for Sasquatch! Music Festival was announced via this freaking awesome video. And WHAT A LINEUP! Who’s going to Sasquatch? I’ve never been, but I really hope to see The Gorge someday as it’s considered one of the most beautiful venues in America. I’ve always wondered if I’d be absolutely torn and confused between watching the view OR the stage. Maybe I’ll get whiplash turning my head back and forth. Man, what a LINEUP! Check it out! Is that Silversun Pickups I see? Does that mean… new music off upcoming album?!?!?! Holy freaking A… what a lineup. 😉 Hmmmm…

Sasquatch! Music Festival 2012 Lineup Announcement from Sasquatch Festival on Vimeo.

Here’s the official Sasquatch website, but it seems to be having issues and loading slow since everyone is flooding the site after the lineup announcement.

RETROSPECTIVE THOUGHT: I think Sasquatch’s lineup is FAR better than Coachella’s. Though Coachella is amazing too, it consists of some of the “staples” and no surprises… and not much introducing of bands that are up and coming, more focused on the already up and upped. Ya know what I mean? I’m much more blown away by this lineup than the Coachella one. I mean… LOOK at the list that scrolls by near the end of the video. LOOK AT IT.

Jack White’s first solo single

January 31, 2012

We’ve all said our goodbyes to The White Stripes, then furrowed our brows and grimaced at all the strange “projects” and “collaborations” Mr. Jack White had been involved in since the disband. Off the top of my head, I can only think of the Danger Mouse collabs as high quality, serious material out of the random things we’ve been exposed to. Finally, we have something else serious and well made. Here’s the first single off his upcoming solo album Blunderbuss (out in April). The single is titled Love Interruption. The bluegrass tinged folk rock track is a redeeming one indeed.

OFFICIAL VID: Danger Mouse & Danielle Luppi ft Jack White – Two Against One

January 9, 2012

Niceeee! Two Against One was one of the most wicked tracks off of Danger Mouse and Danielle Luppi’s work of art album Rome. The track features Jack White (in one of his less ludicrous, more serious projects of late), and this new video is an awesome, animated film. Danger Mouse is a genius.

U2 tribute album?!

October 10, 2011

There’s a tribute album? I guess they’re absolutely legendary despite not broken up and still alive and well. I can’t say I’ve been a HUUUUGE U2 fan over the years, but I definitely am fond of a lot of their music. I’m not a “fanatic”. I’ve seen them live, very good stuff, yes. I definitely like their older material more than the latter stuff. Just caught wind of the tribute album and the tracklist for it. And… O_O this looks freaking awesome. I can’t wait to hear some of these tribute covers! Check it!

01. Nine Inch Nails Zoo Station
02. U2 (Jacques Lu Cont Mix) Even Better Than The Real Thing
03. Damien Rice One
04. Patti Smith Until The End Of The World

06. Depeche Mode So Cruel

09. Gavin Friday The Fly

Oh Jack White… not sure how he’s gonna chop up Love Is Blindness with what he does lately.. meh. But wowowow this could be REALLY good and epic. Looking forward to it!

Bright Eyes cover The White Stripes

October 4, 2011

This was done for a charity album. Bright Eyes covering The White Stripes…with Swedish pop duo First Aid Kit. What a combo. The charity project is titled “Cool for School: For the Benefit of the Lunchbox Fund” and has a bunch of other awesome “school friendly” stuff on there including Fences covering Nirvana, Joseph Arthur covering Neil Young, Cobra Starship covering Timbuk 3, and much more. I’ll share if I find some more of these goodies. The charity provides meals to South African high schools, a pretty worthy cause. Maybe I should find out how to contribute or donate for the collection…

Jack White + Insane Clown Posse + Mozart + Jeff the Brotherhood???

August 31, 2011

Umm. What? Let me try to digest this. Wait, what? Oh and on top of that, the Mozart track is called “Leck Mich Im Arsch”. Wait, what?

Jack White produces, Jeff the Brotherhood does the background music, Insane Clown Posse performs, and Mozart….. hopefully doesn’t roll over in his grave. But did he really write a song called “Leck Mich Im Arsch”? Ahh, Amadeus… how strange you were in your maniacal genius.

Here’s the announcement video floating around:

And this is the actual tune if the upload I found is accurate:

What the heck???

And, yes, apparently it’s accurate that Mozart wrote the song called “Leck Mich Im Arsch”, they didn’t make this up somehow…

Anyone understand the lyrics to the chorale singing? Anyone?

I’m still digesting, not sure what to think about this yet, sounds unique for sure…
