It’s been a few days since news of Jack White’s new solo album surfaced, and the video for lead single Connected By Love has already accumulated over 700K views. In case you were hiding under a rock and missed out on all the commotion, stop everything you’re doing and take in the grand magnificence of the bluesy rock song. Connected By Love also comes accompanied by a B-side named Respect Commander, embellished with punchy kicking drums and snarling guitars. Stream the track below. OFFICIAL VID: Jack White – Would You Fight For My Love?

September 12, 2014

Starting today off with a magnificent new video from the great Jack White, for Lazaretto track Would You Fight For My Love?. Watching the video earlier today brought me back to the brilliance of that album, released on Jack’s Third Man Records earlier this year. I also have the Lazaretto Ultra LP at home, and this convinces me to finally take the shrink wrap off that baby and give it a spin (plus, I’ve yet to examine all the easter eggs and cool features). In the video, you also get a good gander at Jack’s new hair style. He’s chopped those messy locks off, and he’s looking pretty good.

First Aid Kit cover Jack White’s Love Interruption

August 2, 2014

I try not to make it a habit to feature video clips of covers on IHM, but once in awhile, I encounter something that’s too spectacular not to be shared. Quite often, the clips are from Australia’s Triple J radio, since they have a tradition of having bands do covers live on air when they visit their studios. Today, we get to watch Swedish folk sisters First Aid Kit do a transcendental cover of Jack White’s Love Interruption. It’s perfect.

The Dead Weather – Rough Detective

January 16, 2014

Many rejoiced upon hearing rumors that The Dead Weather were working on a new full length album for 2015. Many have wondered about the status of the super band since their last album back in 2010. New song ” target=”_blank”>Open Up (That’s Enough), which premiered a few weeks ago, was a very welcome return, and a worthy one at that. The band teased about a second single titled Rough Detective at the time. This week, we get to hear it. It’s a hard hitting, noisy, rocking and rolling song with awesomely paired vocals between Alison Mosshart and Jack White.

The Dead Weather – Open Up (That’s Enough)

December 17, 2013

One of the nice surprises (or should we call it “Beyonces”) of the day is the full unveiling of a brand new, explosive The Dead Weather song! The superband featuring Jack White, Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Dean Fertita (QOTSA) and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) first hinted at two new tunes back in late October. Before that, many wondered when we’d hear from the bluesy garage rock band again. Well, boys and girls, here it is. The rocking and rolling Open Up (That’s Enough) will be available for purchase digitally on January 14 on Third Man Records. Another new song, Rough Detective, will be the B-side. On top of that, there are rumors that the Dead Weather are working on a full length album for 2015. Quite a return…
