My heart literally seems to jump into my throat when the creamy vocals and seductive beats of this new version of Jean Tonique’s Guest, featuring Iris, woo me fully, leaving it very hard for me to breath. The Parisian producer offers up a heart touching edit of the funky house song, giving us a downtempo late night presentation fit for some divine lounging under those crisp and sensual bed sheets. This “alternate vision” is saturated with melodic guitars and much centered on Iris’ throbbing vocals.

It’s with much pleasure I introduce you to a French producer who goes by the name Epic Empire, if you haven’t heard of him before. He’s just released a killer four track EP, named O.Y.S., on Tir Records. Off the record comes a wicked trap tune named Iris. Full of melodramatic grandiosity, the song has the glitchy playfulness of some of PC Music’s releases, but mixed with Lido meets Wave Racer like chill trap, some Jersey flavored bounce, and the classic regal horns of Woodkid. Iris is an altogether exhilarating experience. The title track from the EP is also a sensationally entrancing song, featuring sultry vocals by LikeBerry. Stream it here on Epic Empire’s Soundcloud. Both tracks are free to download for a limited time only.

IRIS is a synthpop artist from Canada, and she easily stands out from the usual steady onslaught of female electronic pop artists in the scene with her new single Follow Me. It’s a magnificent and affecting song with a fierce groove that evokes La Roux, pulsing bleepy bloopy production that makes me think of Crystal Castles, as well as a vivacious and expansive M83 like vastness. Follow Me is a song carrying endless cheeky sass and bold confidence. IRIS will be releasing a debut EP later this year on Cult Nation.

Partyfine signed producer Jean Tonique is here to ring in summer early with a radiant new electronic offering named Guest, featuring soulful vocals by French artist Iris. Guest is a nu-disco meets house and electronic pop gem that has me itching to hang out by a pool and chill out with my best friends. It’s a heartwarming dance pop song off Jean Tonique’s YOU EP, out this week.

Leona Lewis covered NIN, Goo Goo Dolls, Counting Crows…

Leona Lewis did her own rendition of Nine Inch Nail’s Hurt, and the cover is on a brand new three song EP of the same name. The cover is actually a very interesting approach to the song. I like it a lot! She definitely brings a different, emotive, power ballad feel to the song. Was trolling around for the cover to share, and found this upload of the full EP. I don’t think this will be up long and all other uploads of the cover are being cracked down on, hard. So enjoy it while you can, and if I notice the video isn’t working anymore, I’ll replace it with the latest working video I can find. The other songs on the EP are beautiful and sappy, as expected from the UK songstress. I only realized after typing the above that the other two songs are also covers! She covered Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, which is still one of most gut wrenching songs ever. And she covered Colorblind by the Counting Crows! I’m expecting to hear these on the next season of So You Think You Can Dance, set to some wonderful lyrical choreography.
