I HEART MOOSIQ PREMIERE:

Last Friday, a remix package was released for Cœur de pirate ’s Carry On via Cherrytree Records/Interscope. The release is a whopping nine track compilation of incredible remixes by a long list of talented production acts, including Felix Cartal, L’Tric, Cherry Cherry Boom Boom, Dave Aude, DJ Drew & Michael Mayeda, Nacho Chapado & Ivan Gomez, Liam Keegan, and Ryan Collins. It’s some well deserved skillful treatment of a song that spent over 12 weeks at number 1 on Canadian Top 40 and achieved much global success. Upon diving into the package, I was so taken by Felix Cartal’s beautiful remix that I had to request a solo stream of the track for sharing on IHM. It’s with much pleasure that I now present the esteemed producer’s majestic remix of Carry On. Carry On’s bewitching beauty is everlasting on the chill and deep house dazzler, which is both pensive and vibrant. Purchase Cœur de pirate’s Carry On Remixes package now on iTunes.

OFFICIAL VID: Tame Imapala – ‘Cause I’m A Man

May 21, 2015

It would seem that all the indie world was in a tizzy this morning because Tame Impala dropped a new music video. It’s crazy how much hoopla the Australian psych rock band can create whenever they reveal or unleash anything new. It’s no wonder though, considering how fantastic the songs we’ve heard off Currents have been so far (I mean that song Let It Happen? sheeesh). Today, they decided to gift us a 3D oriented music video for languid song ‘Cause I’m A Man. While the visuaals are somewhat odd, they’re also somehow entrancing and amusing, pairing nicely with the swirling, dreamy ambiance of ‘Cause I’m A Man. Currents, which will be Tame Impala’s third studio album, will be released June 17th on Interscope.

Emile Haynie – Come Find Me ft. Lykke Li, Romy

February 11, 2015

Emile Haynie’s debut solo album drops February 24th on Interscope, and it’s really proving to be a stellar release. The New York musician and producer collaborated with a long list of brilliant artists for the album. Emile has revealed a new track off the album today, and it features none other than Swedish folk pop enchantress Lykke Li and The xx’s Romy Madley Croft. That’s right.. Lykke, Romy, and Emile… It’s no wonder that Come Find Me is a gorgeous amalgamation of the three acts’ sounds. It’s a dreamy, brooding beauty. And, if you haven’t heard the twangy charmer that is Wait For Life yet, you must take a listen below. After all, it features Lana Del Rey, in all her melancholic, haunting, sensual glory.

I know many of us are very excited about Norwegian electronic duo Röyksopp’s new album The Inevitable End, out very soon on November 11 via Cherrytree / Interscope. While we’re waiting, stream one of the album tracks, the mellow and airy Thank You, a honeyed electropop leaning listen reminding me of some of Daft Punk’s recent and more chill work.

BenZel has been dropping some sick tunes lately, after having wrapped up producing Jessie Ware’s spectacular sophomore album Tough Love. The New York duo’s latest revealing is a bumping, resplendent future bass and trap tune named Touch, and it features none other than rapidly rising and hotly buzzing pop chanteuse Ryn Weaver, you know, the artist who gave us OctaHate? Yea, her. Benny Blanco and Ben Ash (Two Inch Punch) really know how to lay down luscious beats and shimmering, glitchy music. Touch is off BenZel’s new EP MEN, out November 10 on Friends Keep Secrets / Interscope.

Röyksopp’s Skulls and new version of Monument with Robyn

There have been rumors of a new Röyksopp album for some time now, especially after the release of the much respected electronic band’s collaborative mini-album with Robyn earlier this year, Do It Again. Now, the rumors have proven true. The Norwegian duo has announced The Inevitable End, to be released November 11 on Cherrytree / Interscope. Everyone, celebrate! I have a feeling some of my friends are going to be ecstatic when I tell them this news. Not only did Röyksopp announce the album today, but they also unveiled two tracks off the release, the first being a brand new dramatic original named Skulls, which you can stream in the widget above, and the second being a new version of Monument, with Robyn. The original was the 10 minute opener on the Do It Again mini-album and the best song off the release, in my opinion. As expected, the re-worked rendition is more upbeat, a lot shorter, but still monumental. I miss the horns and slow intensity of the original, but I’m digging this additional approach, too. The video for the The Inevitable End version of Monument features footage from their killer Do It Again tour. Yes, I was there, at their show in San Francisco. Yes, it was epic.

British alt rockers Wolf Gang dropped a new one recently, and I’m not too pleased with myself for missing the soaring Lay Your Love Down till today. They released a video for the cinematic rocker which alerted me to the new pop imbued, glistening single. The quartet is readying a sophomore album for release later this fall on Cherrytree Records.
