Oh hey, Nine Inch Nails, who are about to headline FYF in LA and Panorama in NYC (their first performances since 2014), are back with a deliciously gritty and industrial new track! They’ve also announced a fresh collection of tunes named Add Violence, due out July 21st.

Add Violence is the second in a series of three related EPs. The first, Not The Actual Events, was released back in December. Less Than is the five track EP’s lead single, out today, and what a glorious bristling, dark seething NIN treat it is. Fans can pre-order Add Violence in hi-res digital format now at NIN’s website, here, and get an instant download of Less Than. It’s becoming quite a year for NIN fans, what with the new EP, their first performances in so long, and that awesome appearance on Twin Peaks, too.

Trent Reznor is always keeping busy with one thing or another. While he’s not writing epic film soundtracks these days, he’s working on a new project titled “How to destroy angels_” with his wife Mariqueen Maandig as well as his usual buddies Atticus Ross and Rob Sheridan. Their collaboration is about to come to fruition in the form of an EP titled “An omen_”. And no, I have no idea what’s going on with their choices of capitalization, lowercasing, and underscoring… I suppose it’s hip? The EP drops on November 13 and they’ve previewed the first sinister, electric single titled Keep It Together. It’s a slow, hypnotic track with a very NIN industrial feel but much more minimalist and with mesmerizing vocals pulling you in like a siren’s serenade.
