The dope ILOVEMAKKONEN remixes are flowing abundantly these days. The latest to catch my ears and hold on tightly is this edit of Tuesday by a Hollywood based producer named Purple Water. It’s a banging, booming, and skittering trap remix that gets me hyped up for the weekend. I’m glad it’s not Tuesday right now. Despite its bouncing bass and rhythm, there’s something steamy and sexy about the track.

Talented San Francisco producer Blackbird Blackbird dropped a riveting remix of ILOVEMAKKONEN’s Tuesday, featuring Drake. While it’s no secret that I’m not the most devoted ILOVEMAKKONEN fan, I’ve found myself falling in love with a lot of the remixes that have reared their heads recently, including this intoxicating, shimmering, buoyant gem. Blackbird Blackbird says to cop it while you can, since he’ll likely be taking down the track soon. If you’re in the mood for something hyped up and caffeinated to perk you up, particularly after some of my last somber features, this will be like a fresh cup of joe.

The Hood Internet has done it again. As they’ve proven time and time again, the Chicago duo are mashup experts. Their latest thriller is has ILoveMakonnen, Drake, and Penguin Prison whirling together on a track titled Calling Up On A Tuesday. It might be one of their most flawless blends yet, and quite the nu-disco meets hip hop dance jam.

I’m not going to lie. I haven’t always been in the fawning fan camp when it comes to hotly buzzing indie hip hop artist iLoveMakonnen’s music, though I understand the barriers he’s been pushing and the artistry behind some of this work. But I must say, he’s turning me around with this fantastic new remix of his song Down 4 So Long, which features Ezra Koenig of Vampire Wekend and rapper Despot. The remix was recorded as the 20th out of 20 exclusive tracks for Red Bull’s 20 Before 15 series. There’s something that just works when it comes to Ezra Koenig’s voice and these surprise, odd collaborations. Don’t forget how amazing SBTRKT’s New Dorp, New York with Ezra Koenig was earlier this year, too!
