Sweater Beats and Icona Pop together is a dream come true, particularly since it’s been so long since we heard from the Swedish electropop duo, plus we haven’t had a new tune from the Los Angeles electronic producer for awhile, either. Faded Away is a punchy biting, chipper romping track bursting with bubbly energy, with sheared synths and brittle, peppery beats. The youthful frolicking jam blends radiant elements and shadowy tones, and it comes with a fabulous music video whose retro animation is a wonderful throwback to classic video games. Faded Away is our new dance obsession. Get it, here.

You obviously can’t go wrong with a new Peking Duk original, much less one featuring our Swedish electropop favorites, Icona Pop. The single is named Let You Down, but we know none of these artists will ever let us down. Icona Pop lends their signature propulsive and endearing vocals to Peking Duk’s frisky pouncing anthem. Peking Duk’s Adam Hyde even joins Icona Pop on vocals, next to the song’s dashing razor-like synths and thunderous driving drum beats.

Peking Duk talk about the inspiration behind the song: “It is loosely based off the story in the movie Candy from Heath Ledger’s perspective. We honestly just felt like the happy melodies would be far more interesting with a sad story through the lyrics. Weirdly, the story in Candy is far more relatable than it seems on first glance. Many people are actually in scenarios or relationships where they know they are bringing the other person down. This is the hard part; trying to tell them to leave so you don’t let them down.” Purchase/stream this epic single, here.

The Bay’s own CVRSE, a DJ and producer who first caught our ears last year with his cinematic trap expertise on an original named Verana, is back with a high voltage dance treat. This time around, he’s teamed up with his buddy from Phoenix, Apato, to give us an electro house and indie dance flavored re-work of Icona Pop’s infectious electropop party anthem All Night. If it’s an injection of ebullient energy and feel good electronica you need, particularly since it’s only Wednesday and we have a few more days to go till the weekend, trust in CVRSE and Apato to deal out an abundance of gaiety and ecstasy with their re-fix. Download their remix of All Night, here.

Long time IHM followers know that we’ve been huge on Swedish duo Icona Pop since the day the blog was born, and we were mad elated when the pair took off due to the success of their world dominating single with Charli XCX, I Love It, though our all time favorite tunes from Icona Pop are still their more electro pop leaning offerings. Caroline and Aino have returned with their first song of 2017, and it’s a playfully infectious gem of a dance track named GIRLS GIRLS that seems to channel the friskiness from their past collaborations with Charli XCX and Louis The Child. One part electro pop, one part house, GIRLS GIRLS is the brisk bouncing Icona Pop anthem we’ve been craving for. It’s out now, here.

Aside from his own thrilling endeavors, Felix Snow is also the production backbone behind countless hit songs from other gifted artists. If you’ve ever been addicted to the fizzy snapping future pop found on Kiiara’s hit single Gold, then you’ve fallen in love with Felix Snow at least once in your life, likely without knowing so till now. The producer presents us with more of that curved voluptuous, brisk bouncing friskiness on a fresh new tune named Windows, a carbonated jam featuring Swedish duo Icona Pop on sassy vocals. Windows is a spacious bubbling treat that evokes Kiiara and Terror Jr with a side of PC Music. You can purchase your new future pop obsession, here.

While some of you probably recall Icona Pop as the Swedish dance duo who gave us ubiquitous electronic anthem I Love It back in 2012, I’ll always cherish the duo as an electronic pop project, one that lured me in with magnificent singles like Manners and Nights Like This many years ago, even before the existence of IHM. Caroline and Aino are back after having collaborated with Louis The Child on dance hit Weekend with a fabulous new tune of their own. Brightside takes me back to those early electropop days. It’s a chromatic tinkling, melodic alluring sparkler of a heartwarming gem and the welcome lead single from the duo’s long awaited third full length album. Icona Pop’s music video for the song is the sort of down to earth, genuine fun that makes me want to hang out with Caroline and Aino as I was fortunate enough to do briefly one epic night in San Francisco several years ago. Purchase Brightside from various outlets, here, as we look forward to more news of that new album.

Though Louis The Child’s latest majestic hit Fire has been taking all the limelight, the Chicago duo’s collaboration with Icona Pop, Weekend, still tends to sneak its way inside my head on a regular basis. It’s just far too catchy of a thriller. Friday night is a more than befitting time to re-visit the track, albeit via a new bootleg of the track by Barcelona’s Kismet. If you thought the original burst with hyper active energy, wait till you hear Kismet’s approach on the track. This bouncy jostling, squishy animated, twerk and moombahton accented eruption of ecstatic noise will certainly leave you dizzily grinning ear to ear.

Perhaps it was an unforgivable error that I didn’t find time to share this magnificent jam on Friday prior to our now forgone weekend, but honestly, any weekday could now be as epic as the weekend. And all you have to do is press play on Louis The Child’s Weekend. The vivacious jouncing, triumphal carousing future pop banger is obviously going to be one of this summer’s biggest dance hits, and it features Sweden’s Icona Pop, too. This long time supporter of both sensational acts feels like a gift has just dropped down to us from the music heavens, and I can’t be more grateful. The loaded tune is wildly infectious. Weekend also boasts a fun, rowdy music video which you can stream below. The single is out now on Big Beat Records and can be purhased from iTunes.
