If it’s a warm, hearty slice of cinematic alt pop and sentimental coastal rock you’re craving for, I suggest you turn your attention to Devon band Tuesday Syndicate and their disarming new single, Hourglass, out tomorrow on May Day Music. Its husky twirling, dulcet lifting effusion of emotion-strewn magnificence has drawn comparisons to Mumford & Sons as well as James Bay. Tuesday Syndicate originally formed as an acoustic folk outfit five years ago. The UK band is said to be greatly influenced by their coastal surroundings, and they’re out on a mission to evoke the rousing splendor of the sea in their impassioned sonic creations. We’ve already learned from past experience with London’s William Arcane that his music can be exquisitely moving yet ghostly haunting. Thom Yorke and Phoria like experimental tones combine with SOHN like bold hues on dark hovering Hourglass, the latest single from the brilliant singer songwriter and producer. This atmospheric creeping, melancholic meditating beauty is the ornate and complex title track from an EP arriving November 29th. Hourglass a shadowy shape shifter, always moving, always changing, just like the combined granules of sand in an hourglass. It’s deeply sorrowful, which is exactly how I tend to feel about time itself. A quiet night of introspection and deep rumination goes hand in hand with this spectacular song.

I don’t know about you, but I’m certainly counting down the days till Disclosure drops their star studded sophomore album Caracal, likely one of the most highly anticipated albums this year. Caracal, like so many other EPs and LPs that we’re awaiting, drops on massive release date September 25th, a day on which I’m certainly going to be drowning in a colossal amount of pre-ordered records, with a smile on my face. As that day creeps closer, Disclosure has revealed another track off the album. This time, the UK kings of electronic music unleashed their Lion Babe featuring dance track, Hourglass. The voluptuous jam comes with a sexy silhouette styled animated music video, a fine and classy visual accompaniment to the slamming UK house and garage jam.
