It’s not often I encounter music from Casablanca, Morocco, a famed destination full of mystique and oozing romantic allure. I hope to someday visit Casablanca, and perhaps, while I’m there, I’ll get to catch some of the talent brewing in the city, such as this producer and DJ, Le Malls. His remix of South Londoner Raye’s Hotbox is my first introduction to this young talent, and it’s a fully intoxicating one at that. Le Malls amplifies the energy on Hotbox with a gorgeous future bass and trap edit. The remix is classy and elegant despite its vivaciously choppy tendencies and spiriting beats. Raye’s smoky voice is golden seductive on the track. Le Malls’ warm swirling production plushly wrap around me, cozy and snug. Download the remix for free, here.

Just a week ago, I was seduced by new South London act RAYE and her sensual, R&B channeling electro-soul music. She follows up on debut single Need Me with a sultry, opulent second song, Hotbox. Again, I’m amazed that RAYE is only 17 years old. And to add to that amazement, RAYE wrote Hotbox when she was 15! It’s a gorgeous, hypnotizing charmer. Along with the new tune, RAYE has announced a debut 7 track EP, Welcome To The Winter, to be released as a free download in November. Revisit first single Need Me below, if you missed it last week.
