Man, I’ve seen Foster The People at my first Coachella, Big Gigantic last year, but I need me some The Knocks at Coachella soon. Anyways, New York’s finest production duo released a remix package of their of fire track Ride or Die and Big Gigantic didn’t fail in bringing the heat. I can’t even finish writing about this inferno since the heat has my fingertips rising off the keyboard in an attempt to fan the flames.

Plenty of talented chefs are in the kitchen cooking up juicy plump beats, fire vocals, and sleek savory synths on this wicked tune named Catalina Dice. Joining brassy Brooklyn brothers French Horn Rebellion and Southern California’s Bee’s Knees is Northern California funk extraordinaire, Boulevards. Catalina Dice’s glamorous disco is a full on party rolled up in less than four minutes, but who says you can’t dive right back into its bouncy splendor again and again and again? It’s not like you’re rolling the “dice” or anything with these dashing boys involved. Catalina Dice is a bonafide banger, a smoking hot, steamy scorching disco house swooner. As French Rebellion and Bee’s Knees say in the description for the track, “Summer’s ending, but it doesn’t mean we’re stopping the party.” Grab the jam from iTunes, here.

Emmit Fenn made a huge impression on the scene from the very first moment he signed to Th3rd Brain last year. He fired of a spectacular display of future beats and electro soul named Painting Greys, a song I’m still deeply obsessing over to this day. He’s since followed it up with a bevy of extraordinary songs, including an acclaimed EP named Prologue. New song Everybody Else was reportedly recorded for said EP, but somehow didn’t make it on in the end. He must have been saving it as a sweet surprise, because that’s exactly what it is, a lusciously percolating, debonair springing flow of soulful intoxicating deep R&B house luxuriance. You’ll be a helpless swooning mess once Emmit Fenn closes the song out smoky cabaret style with sensuous horns, too. A For more about Emmit Fenn’s Prologue EP and to keep up with the ingenious artist, head to his website, here.

It makes perfect sense that this next gem is named Getaway. After all, it all but takes me away from the stress of the work week to a halcyon sonic Eden. I’d love to stay in this verdant oasis forever and dance for all eternity, rather than come back down to reality. Getaway is a velutinous collaboration between Beirut’s Imad and Germany’s Wave Wave. They’ve also enlisted Beirut vocalist Samia on beautiful vocals and Romania’s White Trumpet on airy caressing horns. The multi-national affair’s pristine deep house is saturated with a twinkling effervescence and crisp rumbling bass. You can download Getaway for free, here. Support via Spotify and other outlets, here.

It was more than a year ago that my heart nearly broke in two when Swedish/Norwegian band Postiljonen announced their break up. I had fallen n love with their pellucid dream pop and soaring synthpop when IHM was but a wee little side project what seems like a lifetime ago, and the news hit me rather hard. So, you can imagine the pure joy that filled my heart when I found out that Postiljonen has returned. They do so in fine fashion, with a crystalline soaring, pastel gleaming, and 80′s pumping pop performance on new single Crazy. No Postiljonen indulgence is complete without glorious horns, of which Crazy has its ample share.

I’m sure I’m but one of many fans who are wondering what Bryce Fox has been up to lately. We’d like to believe that he’s holed away somewhere, forging more heart pumping, furiously enthralling tunes after having given us songs like Horns and Burn Fast last year. In the meantime, the LA based artist’s music continues to lend itself well to spine tingling remixing. Denver’s STéLOUSE gives us his astonishing interpretation of Horns and proceeds to electrify and jolt us with the raw kicking, spiny lurching trap and bass edit. STéLOUSE’s remix is a grand jarring affair much fitting of sharply tipped horns. The track is a free download, here.

It’s been a very long time since Rubblebucket’s music has graced the pages of IHM. They make a long awaited return with brassy chic single, Donna. The Brooklyn five piece will be releasing a new EP named U C My Enemies on January 20th, and they’ve also announced a slew of winter tour dates including a New Years Eve show. Now that’s how you make a highly anticipated comeback! I can’t help but find Donna’s dreamy opulent, psychedelic dazzling indie pop irresistible. They seem to throw in everything into this woozy, flowery mix… be it resplendent jazz, disco funk, or retro soul. Head over to Rubblebucket’s website for more details about their impending tour.
