We’ve been watching the Asian hip hop landscape change and grow lately, and one of our favorite hip hop and trap groups to come out of this movement is Higher Brothers. The collective of rappers have even been supported by 88Rising and gone on tour internationally with the likes of Rich Brian and Joji. No doubt one of the group’s most catchy songs is Made In China, and that punchy track has now gotten the DJ Snake treatment on an incendiary bass-turnt remix. Go on and get those trap hands up as we lose it to the hard hitting trap and bass banger.

A trifecta of Moving Castle associated luminaries unite on Peanut Butter, a fresh and funky hip hop and electro frolic with much booty shaking verve. Los Angeles producers AObeats and Robokid team up with versatile artist Mark Johns on the slick bouncing, hypnotic cantering treat. Throwback vibes and sweet nostalgia abound as the trio bring us back to the early 2000′s with the crunchy swerving tune, which can be found on AObeats’ glorious new pilot mixtape, a must listen and a guest talent studded spectacular, here. Mysterious new alt project outsideOUTSIDE blew us away last month when they emerged from the shadows with a spectacular first single named Habits, whose crestfallen mixture of dusky electronica, glitchy shuddering vocal bass, and raspy aching emo alt rock was nothing short of fresh and brilliant. I immediately marked them as a band to watch off that one single. Re-visit our feature of the track, here. On the heels of that debut comes a moody remix/cover of Lil Xan’s Betrayed. It’s obvious our convictions about this project are on point. Their rendition of Betrayed is dark and nebulous. Its muddy bristling vehemence is interspersed with aching keys, resulting in a slow burning yet intensely gripping listen on which outsideOUTSIDE incorporate elements from hip hop, alt rock, and cinematic vocal bass with laser precision. The track is available for free, here. We can’t wait to hear what outsideOUTSIDE has up their sleeves next.

Let’s sink back into the dark and haunting, sensual and carnal with Canada’s iamhill and her new single Mouthful of Shotgun. Not only is her voice astounding on this electro-R&B track, but the song’s sinuous winding, serpentine flittering production is breathtaking, too. iamhill is fresh off of releasing her long awaited album Give It A Rest, and she has a new EP lined up for the rest of the year. Her new song is a must for fans of FKA Twigs, Banks, and Kill J. It’s intense and seductive, plus it features a scintillating rap verse by Texas’ ZEALE. Together, they take us to heart stopping precipices and up monumental peaks with the rousing song. Mouthful of Shotgun can also be streamed via Spotify, here.

What’s that Pringles jingle? “Once you pop, you can’t stop”? Well, the same can be said of BIJOU’s new jam, also named Pringles. Once you get a taste of the guttural pounding, visceral jouncing G-house erupting from this track, you’ll be hooked. Pringles features deep booming hip hop vocals by Devonyea Marcel. The Phoenix producer hypnotizes and exhilarates with his deliciously pounding assault on our ears, which transfers into electrifying rumbles in our chests. Stream/download Pringles, here.

Post Malone’s viral tracks have proven themselves to be fine fodder for remixes of all kinds. A new producer on our radar from Boston named Adam Fine gives further weight to that realization by dropping off a percolating take on Psycho. Crisp jouncing beats and deep rumbling bass give Psycho a whole lot of vibrant pop on the brilliantly energized flip. Adam Fine’s atmospheric and rich interpretation of Psycho is lavishly astounding, and it’s a free download, here.

Our journey into intense electronic euphoria continues tonight with a spine-tingling, suspenseful gripping trap and moombahton take on Elohim and Whethan’s hit collaboration Sleepy Eyes. At the helm of the edit is Los Angeles by way of Philadelphia production whiz NEO FRESCO, who keeps us on our toes with his thrilling rendering of the inebriating original. There’s an exotic feel to NEO FRESCO’s atmospheric twerking, spacious skittering edit. He takes us on a fascinating and intoxicating sojourn with an ever shifting, nomadic roving remix, which you can download, here.

Bazzi was already a pretty big deal when we first picked up on the R&B soul and hip hop artist earlier this year, but just as we expected, we’re seeing the artist’s name a whole lot more lately. It seems, some of our favorite electronic producers have fallen for his music, too. Remixes of Bazzi tracks are on the rise, and as it turns out, his irresistible songs lend themselves well to dexterous re-works. Just listen to Electric Mantis’ captivating take on Bazzi’s Mine, a celestial twinkling, ethereal flickering beauty of a remix. The producer from Alaska takes my breath away with his intoxicating chord progressions and emphatic rumbling bass on the brilliant future trap and ambient bass edit. Stream/download the track, here.

Years ago, when I first started writing about music on I Heart Moosiq, I came across a Bulgarian artist named DENA, and I became insanely obsessed with her song “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools”, which I still love to this day. It’s a wonderfully spunky and endearing song that immediately reminded me of early M.I.A. and now in retrospect, also reminds me of MØ. Re-visit the still awesome music video for the track below. DENA, now based out of Berlin, has been MIA (pun intended) from the scene for a very long time, so we were thrilled when we saw that she’d signed a new record deal and released new track Imaginary Friends, on which she goes an extra dance-y route, blending 90s inspired hypnotic house and smooth R&B with her entrancing drawl. You know what would be really cool? If Yaeji and DENA collaborated, or if Yaeji re-mixed Imaginary Friends. Tell me that wouldn’t be a sweet treat. Imaginary Friends is out now via Mansions and Millions.
