We’re no expert when it comes to the fine tuning of label contracts and the bureaucracy that’s probably involved in the process, but we are glad that Austalian pop phenom Betty Who seems very content with her new return to independent status, and her first single as an indie artist is easily one of our favorite tracks from her in awhile. While Ignore Me has been picking up a lot of acclaim (check out our feature, here), it seems this new arrangement has also afforded the songbird a chance to make a sweet cameo on Dutch producer Don Diablo’s latest soaring dance anthem. Higher takes us on a swift serotonin ascent with its high energy, luscious pumping house, plus its music video is a barrage of amazing animal footage, including some adorable felines. Aside from music, animals and nature are probably my biggest passions. Combined with Don Diablo’s lifting opus and Betty Who’s sonorous vocals, this audio-visual package is pure sensory heaven. So why the critters and creatures? Higher is the title song for a wildlife feature film named Wild Amsterdam, playing in cinemas across Holland right now. Learn more about the film, here. Higher is taken from Don Diablo’s album, FUTURE, released last month and available, here.

New Swedish collective HUMAN is fronted by Grammy Award winning Swedish artist Daniel Adams-Ray.

According to Daniel, HUMAN is not a person or a band, instead, it’s a collective: “It is me and whoever is involved, including you!’

He embarks on his new adventure, or should I say, OUR collective adventure, with the debut of HUMAN’s first single, Higher, an explosive, propulsive anthem influenced by Daniel’s multi-cultural musical background. He expertly fuses vintage blues, conscious rap, and contemporary pop on this larger than life spectacular. The high voltage battle-cry of an invigorating song utilizes a wide array of sound, including a South-African gospel choir, reverb drenched keys, and sophisticated brass sections. Higher is like soulful Rag’N’Bone Man gone groovy Jungle. It’s a massive tune, in more ways than one.

I know this one’s been hopping around on everyone’s prized playlists for awhile now, but we simply can’t let such a superb Jerry Folk remix slide. The Norwegian virtuoso has given fellow countrymen Lemaitre a regal future trap lift on his remix of Higher, featuring candied vocalist Maty Noyes. Despite its lofty lurches and rich swells, Jerry Folk’s Higher reaches its high with an astounding smoothness and with much stylish pizzazz through its abundant trickling of future funk. His official remix is out on iTunes, here.

It’s hard to believe that Norwegian duo Lemaitre can take us any higher than they’ve already done with their last EP, Afterglow, but that’s exactly what they do with their sonorous new single. Higher, which features Los Angeles chanteuse Maty Noyes and her ever bewitching, sultry simmering vocals, is an electrifying track on which Lemaitre ventures into grittier territory. It’s a dark future bass and taut dubstep hybrid from Lemaitre’s new album Chapter One, arriving on June 2nd. Higher is an instant grat if you pre-order the album, here.

A new remix from Grammy nominated Portland producer RAC is always a welcome treat in my books, much less an edit of one of my favorite tracks off The Naked And Famous’ recent album, Simple Forms. I find it incredible that André Allen Anjos finds time to release rapturous remixes in the midst of unrolling new originals off his just announced new album EGO, yet here we are, swaying sublimely to this enthralling indie dance rendition of Higher. RAC’s effulgent waves of rolling synths push us higher and higher on this glorious Friday evening. You can stream/download the remix, here. New album EGO arrives on July 14th, pre-order, here.

The deep sonorous, rich orotund vocals we’re met with us we sink into Higher are so flawless, we nearly hold our breaths in anticipation of what comes next. The single is the very first from a young 18 year old Copenhagen based singer named Maximillian, and what an entrance he makes with his powerful ballad, a conduit for his passion for 90s trip hop, R&B, and modern, edgy pop. His debut is loaded with raw emotion. From its sparse piano-led intro, it opens up into panoramic grandeur. It’s hard to believe Maximillian is so young. His voice and his music is sophisticated and mature, as if he’s endured an abundance of trials and tribulations. He lifts us up with him and we reach for the sky together. It’s all or nothing, now or never. Higher is a song that resonates deep within. It stays with you, as Maximillian will stay with us forevermore with his dramatic debut. Keep up with this young rising artist via his Facebook, here.

Higher is an epic three way alliance that involves Los Angeles producer WOLFE, golden voiced chanteuse Emma Sameth, and teeth loving electronic whiz DNTST. The elegant future R&B and slow burning electro pop original that these three have concocted for us is tactile engaging and rolling hypnotic. Higher takes us to a higher state of mind with its dusky wobbling, sharp percolating elements. The only problem? We never want to come down. Higher is out now on Spinnin’ Records. Download for free, here.

Sleek booming electronica music melds with smoky enchanting pop on Childhood Dreams, a new song from Trondheim raised, Oslo based Ary (real name Ariadne Loinsworth). It’s reported that Ary has been carefully plotting her career path for the past year or so after releasing her debut single Higher on Eskimo Recordings back in 2015. It seems she’s ready to break out in a big way as she bewitches us all with this fine offering. Childhood Dreams feels like a mix of Sylvan Esso, Oh Land, and Niki and the Dove, but softer and fleecier. Stream or purchase Childhood Dreams via other outlets and services, here. Debut single Higher is a must listen too if you happened to miss it previously. Stream the ethereal electropop gem below.

The buzz surrounding Mondo Cozmo has been growing for some time now, and by all accounts of what I’ve picked up from those who’ve seen the artist behind this Los Angeles base project live, it’s a travesty I haven’t made it to one of his sets just yet. I’d imagine I’d have a fabulous time twirling across a dance floor to Mondo Cozmo’s fresh new single, Higher. This high voltage dance punk strutter is wildly enthralling. It even comes with a glamorous lo-fi video featuring actress Paz de la Huerta which you can view below. Mondo Cozmo’s own Soundcloud profile describes his music as “Bob Dylan fronting Oasis, with Beck making the beats”. 2017′s going to be a huge year for Mondo Cozmo.

I’m not sure it’s possible to go any “higher” considering how elevated my spirits already are while soaring on Dutch four piece Radio Days’ new single, Higher. The band counts a wide array of bands and musicians as their influences, including Imagine Dragons, Bastille, Clean Bandit, and more. They certainly take a dance ready approach on their latest electro pop song, giving us a summery track infinitely infectious and lusciously uptempo. Matoma and Cheat Codes vibes rise aplenty from this jam, alongside some torrid indie feels akin to FMLYBND. For more of the quartet’s music, visit their Soundcloud.
