We’re still majorly obsessing over Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s recent releases (and their fabulous band name). Fever Pitch could easily be one of the year’s best alt releases to date, and Holy War was a treat of a slinky scampering track, too. In case you missed our feature of the songs, please make your way over to the post, here. You can thank us later. The North Carolina band is gearing up to release their new album “How to: Friend, Love, Freefall” soon on April 6th. As we countdown the days to its arrival, take in the band’s melodic riffs and chunky bass lines of dusty drawling Hide. The album is obviously shaping up to be an excellent release. A hint of Modest Mouse’s wandering whimsicality saturates the laid back saunter of a tune. Pre-order Rainbow Kitten Surprise’s new album, here.

Little May has released a video for their gorgeous single Dust, a mellifluous and folksy charmer that glides effortlessly with harmonious vocals and lush instrumentals. It’s like a mix of Daughter’s atmospheric music and First Aid Kit’s Swedish folk. Watch the Australian trio’s video below, then let’s revisit melting, pastoral Hide again, from a year ago.

OFFICIAL VID: Little May – Hide

Australia is really churning out great music of all kinds from new bands and musicians lately. Back in October, I featured a great indie folk act named Little May. The up and coming trio is making some major waves with their cinematic, soaring folk music filled with gentle vocals and lovely melodies. Previously shared single Hide now has a music video to go with it. The regal, beautiful song will be on their self-titled debut EP, due to come out sometime early next year.

Australia may be gifting us some incredible nu-disco, future trap, and synthpop/electropop artists lately, but there’s also no shortage of promising indie folk bands from down under. Case in point, this new trio named Little May. Their latest single Hide is a beautiful acoustic pop ballad filled with enchanting, gentle vocals and lovely harmonies, as well as an uplifting melody. Check out their other wistful single Boardwalks below, which is just a gorgeous as Hide.

OFFICIAL VID: Access Royale – Hide

February 29, 2012

Access Royale is a uniquely formed band from Los Angeles. The alt rock outfit found each other via Craigslist early last year. All hail, the great and mighty Craigslist! Actually, I’m sure there are a lot of bands grabbing bits and pieces of their group from Craigslist, but this is one of the first times I’ve seen one such mosaic featured on NME. Their single Hide is a very decent and catchytune off debut album City Of Paradigm, which drops on May 17th.
