We’ve been following along with Haux for a year now as he tore our hearts asunder with one after another emotive song. Last Friday, those songs were released alongside two new ones on a spectacular debut EP named All We’ve Known. The War is one of the new ones, a gossamer stirring dream folk and ambient electronic lullaby. The song’s aching nostalgia and pensive brooding are absolutely gut wrenching and oh so beautiful. It whispers intimately and caresses gently, like a softly babbling brook in the midst of a misty forest ripe with woeful memories. Stream All We’ve Known in full on Soundcloud and purchase from various outlets, here. Prepare yourself for an immensely moving experience.

You might want to sit down and take a deep breath before you dive into this next one, an absolutely stunning song from London’s Haux. Seaside, like Haux’s prior song Caves, is a thoroughly melting ambient electronic and dream folk song. It’s a misty shoreline that Haux takes me to, one on which I wander aimlessly alongside the tide, lost in rumination and aching regret. The tender, heart rending beauty comes from Haux’s forthcoming debut EP, All We’ve Known. Seaside is out now via Akira Records on both iTunes and Spotify.

When I learned that there’s new Haux out and about, I knew I had to prepare myself for some of the most breathtaking music I’ve encountered all day long. Sure enough, Caves is a thoroughly melting, gut wrenching beauty, a downtempo indie dream folk gem of epic grandeur. Once again, I’m lost in the NYC by way of Boston solo act’s music, lined with gossamer vocals and generously trickling exquisite melancholy. Adding to the effect are beautiful backing vocals by Othell, or Raiche Wright. Purchase the spine tingling, sigh drawing gem on iTunes.

Last month, I shared a breathtaking, emotionally charged ambient dream folk gem named Homegrown, from a NYC based artist named haux. The gossamer gem literally took my breath away with its minimalist beauty and poignant melancholy. German producer Le Pars edited to track to give us a slightly amped up chill melodic version of the tune. The remix retains the original’s heart rending capability, but in a more expansive, resounding manner, full of lush opulence and deep house depth. Though this Homegrown is still ghostly and graceful, there’s an added urgency and an extra helping of yearning, unrequited affliction.

NYC by way of Boston act haux weave a tapestry of breathtaking emotion and spacious beauty on their song Homegrown. The ambient and downtempo song is exactly the type of dream folk song that gets me all smoky eyed and lost in reveries. Gossamer female vocals pair with poignantly melancholic male vocals to create a sparse environment not unlike some of my favorite The xx songs, but with a RHODES and RY X kind of atmosphere. Homegrown is a fully enchanting and stirring experience.
