It’s interesting how certain timeless indie songs suddenly make comebacks into the mainstream years after their initial success. Empire Of The Sun’s Walking On A Dream made a massive return last year thanks to a Honda Civic advert, and this year, Bag Raider’s Shooting Stars is suddenly everyone’s favorite tune. I’m not one to complain, Shooting Stars still has such a firm grasp on my heart, seven years after the Australian electronic band released the single. This comeback has apparently inspired Atlanta’s Halogen to create a fresh cover of the tune, and their rendition of the song is absolutely incredible. NYC’s 8 Graves turns in vocals on this cosmic house cover. You can download their version of Shooting Stars via Toneden, here.

It’s impossible to turn a blind ear to Halogen these days. Though they’ve been silent for awhile, the duo from Atlanta make this more than clear with their remix of Calum Scott’s Rhythm Inside. A drawn out regal and cinematic start welcomes us deep into this irresistible turn on the song before a gorgeous drop shoots us into a world of buoyant vibrancy and ravishing drums. That “rhythm inside” has broken to the surface. I find myself a willing prisoner to its cadence as I can’t help but move. The deep dance remix can be purchased from iTunes, here.

Big time, hotly buzzing electronic act The Chainsmokers hit up fast rising Atlanta duo Halogen for an official remix of their beautiful ode to the Big Apple, NYC. Halogen’s remix is rife with piano driven, melodic energy, eventually buildling up to a splendorous future house explosion of choppy beats and future funk edge. It’s a concoction of ecstasy that Halogen themselves like to dub “Future Prog”. Download the vivacious remix for free, here.

Jack Garratt is an incredible artist, even more magnificent live from my own personal experience, but plenty of that brilliance shines through on his recorded masterpieces regardless. The British musician recently unveiled one of his best songs yet, the heart melting, bittersweet Weathered. Rising Atlanta production duo Halogen take full advantage of those qualities on a sensational official remix of Weathered, one of my favorite remixes to come to light this past week and weekend. The house transformation turns Weathered into a less weathered, much more vibrant and uplifting dance floor groover. Jack Garratt’s vocals, though still brimming with weary, beaten emotion, seem to shine ever more powerful when laid next to Halogen’s deep beats and sprightly chords.

Now we’re really getting into some vibrant bangers. Kaskade & Adam K’s Raining has received a massive remix treatment from Atlanta’s Halogen. If you’ve been following on my Halogen features, you know that the emerging production duo have a knack for knocking out some superbly uplifting and intoxicating progressive house tracks. They give Raining a regal and ethereal magnifience. EDM heads know that electronic music, even the heavy hitting jams, can be incredibly beautiful. Halogen captures that exquisiteness in this edit that takes me back to some of my old epic vocal trance head days. Snag this tune for free from Halogen’s soundcloud.

The last we heard from Halogen, the Atlanta based duo took on Basement Jaxx’s Never Say Never, giving it a deep future makeover. Now, they’ve teamed up with Chris & Janzen on a thoroughly intoxicating and sublimely piano laced edit of massive Borgeous & Shaun Frank hit This Could Be Love. The effervescent, glowing end result is an enrapturing future deep house meets progressive rocket ship to straight up to cloud nine.

Basement Jaxx’s Never Say Never, featuring ETML on vocals, is one of the best tunes off the legendary dance duo’s 2014 album Junto. It’s even up for a Grammy, having been nominated in the best dance recording category. Atlanta based duo Halogen takes the infectious hit and raises the vibrancy of the tune even higher with an irresistible future and deep UK house remix. It’s an immensely uplifting and euphoric edit that warrants some time spent on the dance floor.
