I’ve yet to visit Toronto, but I really want to make my way out there, if not for anything else, to try and figure out why the city continually spawns some of the best R&B inspired acts. BLAJK is one such four piece, and they’ve already racked up many accolades this past year. Their music has appeared on Spotify’s New Music Friday, been featured on YouTube’s IndieAir, climbed high up in the ranks of HypeMachine, and soundtracked H&M stores across the U.S. The four piece return with a new stunner named Gunshot, described as having “sleek, ultra-nuanced production that transitions from melodic introspective to anthemic outcry as frontman Jordan Radics’ extravagant vocals are accompanied by layers of driving percussion and twirling synths.” The bold alt pop and smoky alt R&B spectacular is moody yet majestic. Snag the pounding, gripping tour de force from major outlets, here.

Swedish songbird Lykke Li’s Gunshot is already likely the most upbeat tune on her dark, melancholic album I Never Learn. Now, it gets tropical, balmy update that brings it into some sumptuous melodic house territory by Taiwan’s San Zhi and France’s The Shoes

Swedish songstress Lykke Li released her much anticipated new album I Never Learn earlier this summer, and it was such a heartbreaking, beautiful dark pop work of art. I can’t wait to watch her perform songs off the album live at Outside Lands Music Festival come August. Today, she released a video for one of the most upbeat tracks off the album, the enchanting Gunshot.

Yesterday, Swedish folk pop enchantress Lykke Li unveiled another new tune off her forthcoming album I Never Learn, out June 5. She created a website just for the Gunshot stream, including the lyrics from the beautiful song. It’s another scintillating gem, but the most upbeat pop tune we’ve heard so far off the coming release. Still haunting, the chorus actually reminds me a little of Tegan and Sara. Lykke Li also recorded a breathtaking acoustic video of the song for H&M, which you can find below. Suffice to say, her set is one of the performances I’m most looking forward to at Outside Lands Music Festival 2014 come August.
