I love sweet juicy cherries, and I love hanging at the beach, so I couldn’t help but be drawn to Cherry Beach’s name even before I listened to their debut single. Once I heard the new Los Angeles duo’s first song, Gravity, I had to wonder… Could this sonic experience be better than cherries and beaches, combined? Cherry Beach fuses future bass, deep house, and electro-pop flawlessly on the song, giving us a gravity defying, brisk bounding confection whose limber beats, supple vocals, and melodious chorus are irresistibly contagious. Cherry Beach’s debut can be streamed/downloaded, here.

Over the weekend, NYC electronic extraordinaire Jai Wolf released his Kindred Spirits Remixes pack, an eight song collection involving a wide range of artists we love. The release includes this sleek propulsive, bouncy buoyant edit of Jai Wolf’s Gravity, featuring JMR, by ever dashing production duo Hotel Garuda (aka Candle Weather and Manila Killa). Their melodious thrusting, crisp bounding edit brings me right back to their show at the Recency Ballroom earlier this month, when I “danced on the moon” to their latest single and plenty of other Hotel Garuda treats amidst an exuberant crowd. In a way, it’s rather fitting this remix came out right after. The effects of “gravity” slip away as we hop and leap in delirious joy to their blithesome house remix. Jai Wolf’s Kindred Spirits Remixes release, which also features the likes of Robotaki, Party Pupils, Vindata, and more, is available from iTunes, here.

Los Angeles’ Diamond Pistols defies gravity itself with his cinematic marching new anthem, Gravity, which features Lydia (of pop duo Luke & Lydia) on ravishing vocals. Booming, whizzing, thrashing future bass permeate this high flying, lofty soaring, and grandly whirring spectacular. It’s a majestic and resolute jaw dropper well worthy of a start to an epic weekend, and you can stream or download the track, here.

Danish experimental pop auteur Kill J has been one of the brightest blips on our talent radar for many a year. We could never predict what she’d give to us next after having experienced the wide array of electronic pop and avant-garde electro R&B she’s given us in the past. Kill J recently signed to Nettwerk Records, and she makes her debut on the label with an ethereal single named Gravity. Its unconventional pop and willowy fluttering vocals, framed in the atmospheric yet minimalist soundscape, leave me wondering if Gravity is what an FKA Twigs and Kate Bush collaboration would sound like. I’m pretty sure I’ve fallen in love with Kill J all over again, and I’m overjoyed that Gravity is the first single from her upcoming debut full length. You can be sure I’ll be awaiting more news about the album in the coming weeks.

Perhaps you made the egregious mistake of missing out on British singer songwriter Leo Stannard’s heart melting folk flavored pop ditty Gravity earlier this month, like we did. Then you’ll probably be forever grateful to Luca Schreiner and his remix of the track for keying us into the tune. After all, Gravity, which also features fellow UK talent and much esteemed singer songwriter Frances on guest vocals, is as tenderly charming and honeyed endearing as can be. Stream Gravity below, then let German producer Luca Schreiner brighten your day with a summery dance remix, above. Gravity itself seems to fade as we float into the sky, guided by the effulgent glow of this balmy sparkling official edit. Luca Schreiner’s sanguine remix can also be streamed on Spotify, here.

Liverpudlian vocalist Katy Bryson and Mancunian musician Reece Cairns make up the fresh new UK duo named HALEM. They’ve already drawn comparison to Disclosure, Gorgon City, and Major Lazer despite being new on the scene, some of which can certainly be detected on their second single, Gravity. This UK garage meets electro pop song pairs smoky soulful vocals with frisky keys and deep pounding beats, evoking AlunaGeorge and Clean Bandit alongside the aforementioned projects. Gravity, aside from spurring some Sunday afternoon sweaty dance shenanigans in my living room, also leaves me incredibly intrigued and excited for more HALEM. The duo are known for giving fabulous, neon lit live performances with a strong visual identity. I wonder how long it will take before I get to experience that for myself on this side of the world.

Berlin by way of LA songstress Simonne Jones’ debut electronic pop single Gravity gets a haunting dark, jagged hypnotic remix by ever eccentric and imaginative electronic artist Peaches, and it’s pure future pop edged heaven. There’s a ghostly quality to the galactic remix’s shadowy vocals and dusky tugging beats, and it blissfully keeps me riveted and fascinated. Peaches even adds a bold and fiery rap verse to the tune. Listen to the original infectious pop tune below via its official video. Gravity is the title track from Simonne Jones’ debut EP out May 27th via Vertigo Berlin. Pre-order the EP from iTunes.

SMNM is majestic and grand on the enigmatic Swedish artist’s second song Everything. It booms confidently and burns grittily, a woozy storm of dark electronic pop and guttural R&B. The anguish on the bold track is undeniably palpable, a magnetic presentation of torrid emotion and heartbroken longing. Everything follows on tails of debut single Gravity, an equally haunting and stirring song not to be missed below. Both tracks are free downloads if you head to SMNM’s soundcloud.

If the expansiveness and lushness of this song and its melting, stirring vocals sound familiar, it’s probably because you’ve listened to The Eden Project before and allowed him to whisk you away with his rousing music. Now known as just Eden, the Irish electronic artist has released an emotionally charged, cinematic single named Gravity. The song builds in passionate urgency from its ambient, weightless beginnings, making hearts feel like they’re about to burst. Gravity is the second single from Eden’s End Credits EP, and you can download the track for free, here.

I’m a sucker for Ella Eyre’s soulful vocals, particularly when they’re paired with powerful drum and bass jams, like on DJ Fresh’s Gravity, or on some of Elle Eyre’s early guest spots with Rudimental. DJ Fresh has offered up a VIP Remix of Gravity, a dizzying, frenetic piece of EDM music laced with much hardstyle energy, trippy acidity and high paced percussion. The original will be out February 8 on legendary Ministry Of Sound.
