We love it when local talent shines, and Oakland’s own There’s Talk is absolutely dazzling on their long awaited return, Give It Up. The moody droning, shadowy brooding song blends dream pop, shoegaze, synthwave, and slowcore altogether. These are all sub-genres we adore dearly, so you can imagine how hard we fell for There’s Talk’s intoxicating new single. Give It Up rolls, pitches, and yaws at a languid yet deliberate pace, like a vast undulating ocean on a peaceful moonlit night. It’s dark and bottomless, a meditatively gripping seance. To say There’s Talk has put us in an exquisitely introspective mood is an understatement. Give It Up is lifted from There’s Talks forthcoming EP, scheduled to arrive late next month. You can pre-order on limited edition 7″ via Bandcamp, here.

I’ve been waiting for this day for quite some time now, tormented by a hunger for new Misun. The Washington, D.C. alt and electro pop band make their return with a glossy gem named Give It Up, a fine follow up to their kaleidoscopic Feel Better EP earlier this year. Give It Up is a wonderfully infectious, delightfully effervescent tune from the genre defying band, who hoists along some Lucius like 60′s soul and Misterwives like indie pop on the gem. Misun emits playful rays of sunshine and oozes saccharine grit on Give It Up, which will be out on a double AA-side from B3SCI Records, pre-order here.

Much gratitude and love to Mister Miau for shooting over this amazing song earlier this afternoon. Oddly enough, it took a friend from far away with exquisite music taste to introduce me to an amazing new act from right here at home in San Francisco. Give It Up is a colossal collaboration between San Francisco’s CRUELS and ever bewitching UK chanteuse Salt Ashes. Together, they present us with an uptempo, soulful house jam that sparkles and twinkles with endless ethereal beauty. CRUELS’ Balearic production reverberates and bounces regally, while Give It Up’s lustrously ripe melody is fully enticing and hooking. Ultimately, I’m left feverishly pressing the play button again and again, while curiously wondering who this CRUELS is, and where he hides in our great city.

I’m not at all surprised that British artist Jimmy Napes’ Give It Up is garnering some substantial attention since its reveal earlier this year. After all, the talented artist is an oft Disclosure collaborator and much skilled. On March 9, Jimmy will release a solo EP, The Making Of Me, and it’s sure to make some waves. His soulful, velvety voice pairs harmoniously with the production laid down by Disclosure’s Howard Lawrence on Give It Up. View the new video below.

Some of you might recall London’s Jimmy Napes from Together, the collaboration last year that also involved Sam Smith, Nile Rodgers, and Disclosure. The soulful voiced singer songwriter is releasing a solo EP, The Making Of Me, come March 9, and the first cut off the release is a mesmerizing single named Give It Up. His velvety voice glides slickly over the song’s shimmery, electrifying production, courtesy of Howard Lawrence from Disclosure. Keep an eye on this one as the year progresses, folks.

Portland electropop artist EXROYALE returns with Stuck In My Head, a seductive, R&B flavored jam that carries such swooning falsettos and a catchy, honeyed melody. It’s like some less guitar heavy and intense Ben Khan, blended with some Shy Girls and Miguel. Stuck In My Head is the most simmering, moody track yet out of three from the musician and producer. Revisit more airy and bright prior songs Without It and Give It Up below.

It’s been over half a year since EXROYALE tore into the indie scene with their excellent debut single Give It Up. They’re finally back with their second ever track, titled Without It, and it proves the potency we heard in Give It Up wasn’t a mislead. The Portland act is mesmerizing on the synthpop gem with its R&B flavored vocals and its hint of psychedelia. Check out last year’s Give It Up below. There’s also grooving remix of Give It Up by Ra Ra Riot, who, incidentally, I’m reminded of by EXROYALE’s sound, blended with a touch of Active Child and How To Dress Well.

From Wales in the prior post, we travel to Ireland for new trio Dear Desert’s beautiful, soaring debut single Give It Up. The opening bars immediately brought Tears For Fears to mind, and I do love Tears For Fears very much. Give It Up is such a soothing, beautiful listen, with a wonderfully mellifluous and bittersweet pop chorus. I’d love to hear more from Dear Desert.
